    I did not copy the whole review I should state that now. I copied what the game was about from a website. Ie what the game is about like Tescos etc write.. The actual review of the game was my OWN. And if you are accussing me off fraud then I would look into this VERY seriously before you go about SLANDERING me on a public forum. I will now look into reporting you for slander I am very angry in your last comment. I can take critisim all day long but when someone accuses me of a criminal activity I take it VERY seriously.:mad:

    Guffaw! Whether you copied one paragraph or six, it's still (a) against the T&Cs of Dooyoo:

    Restrictions

    You hereby agree not to provide any Content which:
    • may adversely affect the functionality of any computer software and/or hardware;
    • is untrue, inaccurate, misleading, defamatory, offensive or malicious;
    • is in breach of any intellectual property rights of any third party;
    • if published by dooyoo.co.uk would be illegal, unlawful, contrary to public opinion or would be reasonably likely to cause loss or damage to dooyoo.co.uk.
    For the avoidance of doubt, have a look at the FAQs:
    11. Is copying reviews allowed?

    We here at dooyoo like to call a spade a spade, so make no mistake, copying a review is called plagiarism. Under no circumstances does dooyoo allow people to plagiarise content. Reviews copied from other sources are quickly picked up by dooyoo users, guides, and staff - so do not copy other people's work and claim it as your own.
    You can, however, post reviews on dooyoo that YOU yourself have written and posted on other sites - as long as this is stated in your review.
    And (b) illegal. You plagiarised your content. Since you are apparently unaware of the meaning of the word, you can find a definition here:
    plagiarism [play‐jă‐rizm], the theft of ideas (such as the plots of narrative or dramatic works) or of written passages or works, where these are passed off as one's own work without acknowledgement of their true origin; or a piece of writing thus stolen.

    Note the use of the word 'theft.' Would you have been happier had I said you committed theft? You stole content from someone else and claimed it was your own, in order to fraudulently earn money from Dooyoo. You got reported and caught. Shame.

    That makes no difference - copying what the game was about is the same thing as copying a review because you used someone else's words to, firstly, boost your word count and secondly, to say what the game was about instead of detailing it in your own words.

    Plagiarism is plagiarism, there isn't an "I only copied part of it!" clause.

    Now that is true, you cannot put your hands up to copying and then say "only a bit". You have admitted it, you won't do it again, leave it as that.

    I have written a couple of reviews so far (tonight is about reading and rating others) and had some good advice from members here on where they felt I could improve - spell check being the big one, not writing at 3am the other ;)

    Anyway, to the question....I wrote my reviews here first, then saw mention of ciao and have since copied them across there, should I state in my review that I have done this? I did in the first, but not the 2nd - also do I have to do the same in ciao? (my username is the same on both sites so it should hopefully be apparent that I havent pinched someones work)

    Thanks in advance.

    If you ask me and you ask Camp Freddy, you'll get two different replies. Me, I would until you become established (probably putting a bit in brackets at the end of the review) - Freddy would mention that you have an account on both sites on your about me (I would do that too).

    When I first started cross posting, I always mentioned it; now that I'm established I never do, but it's your call :)

    I know some sites don't let you use the same reviews as you've written on other sites (as far as I'm aware anyway) but the ones that do, yes you need to state in each one that it's from your account elsewhere. I think this is basically so they can tell you aren't stealing someone else's reviews but also to see how much work you're actually putting into their site.
    £2 Savers Club no.91 = ?? (unknown until full and counted)
    Review writing = £3.60 + $25.00
    Myhpf = £4.45
    STP = £1.82 v10.04
  • I wouldnt unless someone accuses you of copying especially if you have the same username. I had the same username on both sites and never referenced and even with different ones now I dont bother.

    Having said all this, Dooyoo themselves recommend you do - see my reply to the plagiarism post - they say "You can, however, post reviews on dooyoo that YOU yourself have written and posted on other sites - as long as this is stated in your review." Like I say, it's your call - either way.

    Cheers

    Correctamundo, Matty. You have a profile for a reason, so if you write on Ciao, Helium, Wikipedia, a blog, toilet walls, this is the place to let us know. Non-member consumers don't care about your accounts on other sites, so IMO, your review is not the place to say "previously published on SITE X under username FREDBLOGGS"
