Morrisons Shopping Offer - Ideas?

Hello
Morrisons have just introduced a new round of 50p deals and the ingredients are:
4 eggs
2 x Beans
4 x Tomatoes
White bread
8 x sausages
Pack of bacon
Pack of muffins
Pack of mushrooms
I know the obvious is a cooked breakfast/brunch but I wondered what other meal ideas people had that would be suitable for the freezer?Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
You could make some carbonara,
sausage, beans and pasta bake?0 -

bacon and mushroom and tomato pasta ,
this is one of my favourites
toad in the hole with beans
or mushrooms stuffed with sausage meat dipped in egg then breadcrumbs and either baked in the oven or deep fried
or a savoury bread pudding , butter bread ,make up egg and milk pour over top with chopped tomato and bacon , pop in the over till cooked serve with beans0 -
How about using the eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and bacon in a fritatta.
Toad in the hole, sausage and baked bead casserole (YUM) I'm hungry now and I only had dinner half an hour ago!0 -
The price of the mushrooms is disgraceful. Look at the price per kilo on the pack and you will see that it is hugely higher than the price per kilo of other non- 'price crunch' mushrooms.
Morrison's super deals are not always what they seem!
The bacon IS cheaper per kilo but it is difficult to tell with the tomatoes as they are priced each so cannot be compared per kilo with others.
I am finding it increasingly wearisome that supermarkets like Morrisons are cynically manipulating customers in this way0 -
Maybe I'm just being ungrateful but I do feel Morrisons' 50p offers are getting progessively worse each time they are announced. I mean, what self-respecting retailer would sell a pack of FOUR eggs?
Smilarly, FOUR rashers of bacon?
I'm assuming they will do the usual 2 per customer restriction? Woop de doo, 8 slices of bacon per visit!

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
Tesco sell packs of bacon - 16 slices for £3.89 :eek:1carminestocky wrote: »Maybe I'm just being ungrateful but I do feel Morrisons' 50p offers are getting progessively worse each time they are announced. I mean, what self-respecting retailer would sell a pack of FOUR eggs?

So the bacon isn't that bad, but I agree that not everything else is a good deal.0 -
Just thought I'd quickly check the offers against Tesco prices where I usually shop... If Tesco work out cheaper.. then Asda/Aldi/Iceland should be able to beat the Morrisons prices easily!
4 eggs (Tesco 15 for £1.50, therefore 4 cost 40p).
2 x Beans (Tesco value, 20p each, therefore 2 cost 40p).
4 x Tomatoes (Tesco value, 69p for six, therefore 4 costs 46p).
White bread (Tesco value, 45p).
8 x sausages (Cheapest = 1.00/KG for Value, Tesco pips, but morrisons better quality?)
Pack of bacon (Cheapest = 4.32/KG - MORRISONS WINS BY £1/KG)
Pack of muffins (Cheapest = 65p, MORRISONS WINS BY 15p)
Pack of mushrooms (Loose mushrooms = 2.28/KG, Tesco a lot cheaper)
Seems that the meat and muffins are fairly good value, but the rest are a bit of a rip-off.0 -

Try tesco value bacon - the smoked is especially georgeous for carbonara! You do have to look through for "good" packs, but some weeks it is all really nice slices, other weeks a bit fatty. On the good weeks I buy several, other weeks none at all."there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0
