i didn;t know they gave the "spending money" wek by week i was lead to believe that it is transfer automatically to a prepaid card maybe i may misunderstood them
Sorry, didn't mean to mislead you, in our circumstances we get income from 4 different sources, at different intervals throughout the month, so it would transferred over every week more or less.
If you only get income from one source, once a month, then yes you'll get it all in one go.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
thanks again peachyprice my income is monthly so it is good news lol !
i jusrt applied apparently they already gave an account number and sort code and told me that i will received a pack and a form to send it back. they also told me to wait until everything is set up before transfering any money in !
so iwill see how everything is going hopewfully good ! does anyone has experience of them ? do i still have to let the OR know about this account ?BSC number 1830 -
Have you tried Natwest? I opened a basic natwest savings account - I think it is called a First Reserve. When I opened the account all I needed was proof of identity and proof of my address - no credit checks were done (I would have been refused if so).
This account comes with a solo Maestro card that can be used in shops and online and also comes with online banking. Even though it is a savings account it allows direct debits and standing orders to be paid from the account.
I am not sure if they allow bankrupts, but as they don't do credit checks for that savings account I can't see why not, I don't think they asked me if I was bankrupt when I opened the account. I am going to see them and see what will happen to the account when go bankrupt in a few weeks.
Jaks
Jaks the only two free accounts open to BR's are the Co-op cashminder and the Barclays Cash account.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

Hi,
I was looking into Think banking / one banking.
If I was refused a coop / barclays basic bank account after BC but before OR interveiw, would it be ok to then add the monthly account charge an item of expenditure?0 -
good question lisa55 to which i have no answer lol i am not sibject to an IPA/IPO as i am on low income but me too i would liek to knwo if 12.50 pounds + 25 pounds for the set up fee can be consider as an essential expenses fo running a bank account ?
to my mind yes because if you have any surplus then i think it will come from that only as an IPA only take 50 % of that surplus if it does make sense lolBSC number 1830 -
one last question my Oh has a lot of problem with HSBC since i went BR. the last one being that they have cancelled all his DD Standing order and etc...
he si not BR yet but will be soon . the barclays bank account is in my name only and not a joint account !
anyway we had transfer hsi wages onto my new Barclays bank account and we will transfer all hid DD, SO etrc... when he goes BR does my barclays bank account will be frozen as well ? i am worried that i wil have to apply again for a new bank account or notBSC number 1830 -
If you opened the Barclays Basic Account you should be fine. Why doesn't your husband open one now in anticipation of BR. Personally I chose Coop because of the debit card.

I have heard that the halifax easycash bank account maybe suitable however you should check in the branch, i can't see anything in their ts and cs that would mean you shouldn't be able to get it0

Halifax notified me of my bankruptcy the day after going bankrupt - well before the OR had informed them. They have people who trawl the London Gazette or something - they even knew before I was on the Individual Insolvency Service site!
The only banks that are BR friendly are the Cooperative Bank and Barclays Bank. If you try any of the others, you are just wasting your time.
