    Hi Fat,

Do you have a family member who would allow you to have your wages paid in until you get yourself sorted

I had trouble like that with Barclays. I was trying to take my name off our joint account and was told to go in to branch, the branch told me I had to phone etc round and round we went. It took 4 months in the end.

I woul go in to the branch and sit down with them and ask them to phone so you've got them there both at the same time and they can't volley any more.

Good luck. Also tell them wha problems you've been having etc regarding opening the account and say you would like your account number now please!

  • If you get totally stuck, you can apply for a pre paided card, I think that you canput your salary into most of them.

Fatou the only 2 banks that are BR friendly are Barclays and Co-op, sorry.

As Kylie says there are certain pre-paid credit cards that you can have your wages paid into if it becomes difficult while you are waiting.

Yeah i just got myself a virgin prepaid card as its rates are great for what i need and no monthly fee which is even better. You can have your salary paid straight into that if you get stuck it might be the way forward.

i applied with city bank online few days agos i received the information pack today saying i was provisionnaly accepted they need me sending some id detail and proof of address .

however there is no mentin in their term and condition about bankruptcy as being inelligible to open a bank account.

    Hi

I had a Barclays basic account, joint with hubby. Not much trouble opening I went into branch and got account number etc next morning on letter.

Went into branch on Friday to remove my name as I go BR on Thursday 14th. Very helpful guy changed it there and then as hubby was with me. Guy removed all my details from the account on the computer right in front of us. I'm now minus a cashpoint card BUT I still have my lovely blue co op one
