...............We have now reached a stage in our society where a simple one off error in manufacturing has people traumatised and "demanding action".
I have found a chunk of green gob in a tea of beans. Probably a chav on minimum wage at the processing plant decided to gob in the vat.
Did I cry, no.. My stomach heaved BUT this sort of thing in unavoidable when you pay crappy wages to people who dont give a fig about job satisfaction.
I didnt blame the store, I just took it back - even the managers stomach heaved and he offered me a case of beans as apology, which I declined - but accepted a £5 bribe.

ANd the manager returned to his office quietly mumbling under his breath - WHAT A MUG!!

    THAT IS TOTAL C R A P!!

We are all helping the company in question when we bring to their attention a failing in their system. And why should we do this for free.

Most of us go to work and some of us 'Provide Information' for a fee (Wage) so why on earth should a company that you have no affiliation with, get said info for buck-shee?

This info is worth a hell of a lot of money to that Company and they are quite prepared to pay that money.

I would ask you if your attitude would be the same if the suspension collapsed on your new car because some little delinquent had had a bad day and left a nut loose for 'a larf'.

Its attitudes like that which cause us all to suffer corner cutting methods because the company can get away with it - and more!!

I think you've deluded yourself a bit here.

Have you ever heard of quality control?

Companies know errors can happen, they don't need to pay us to tell them that. Ready meals are mass produced, they likelihood is they will never know exactly what happened.

They will be given any information they need by the sane majority who just want a replacement/refund and no gluttonous attitude that convinces themselves they should be paid for this.

You talk about attitude, you need to take a look at yourself first!

Which has failed in the above instance.

What? So the manager of that store in question filled out a report and sent it back to the manufacturers, did he? I doubt that very much,

You talk about attitude, you need to take a look at yourself first!

And WHERE do I talk about attitude, precisely?

I purchase a meal and prepare all of the rest of the accompanying food and set down to enjoy that meal, then find a foreign object. Assuming that I have a replacement meal in the larder/freezer my meal time has to be disturbed to prepare and cook a replacement meal by which time the accompanying food is spoiled and it is now an hour later before I can enjoy my meal. If I were hoping to meet someone that evening, then that causes even more problems. And if I didn't have a replacement meal, then what?

I then have to take/send the offending food back to the manufacturers/shop and I suffer all of this out of the goodness of my heart?
    Yeah Right!!

MY time is precious to me and I am NOT repared to put up with anything that robs me of that time.

You, my friend, can put up with it if you want. That's your choice.

    Terrible attitude, isn't it.

It's simple, you just take it back and get a refund.

It's making a soap opera for the sake of it!

How does it take an hour to cook a ready meal? Most go in the microwave for 5 minutes.

Would I get robbed of my time? No because I'm more organized, wouldn't have got myself in a situation where the only other meal I have would take an hour to cook and wouldn't be so melodramatic.

Lifes what you make of it. If you want to have a little drama everytime you shop and eat thats your problem. However being normal is hardly 'putting up', just some general organisation takes care of that.

    I see, Tim.

You make assumptions/accusations but when questioned you prefer not to answer them?

SEE YOUR PREVIOUS POST AND READ MY FOLLOW-UP.

    EDIT: Second thoughts, Dont Bother.

We will just beg to differ.

Have a good day and enjoy the sunshine.:)

rite thanx to most of you for the replies.... to the idiots who were very presuming that all i wanted was compensation.. maybe you should get facts clear/right before posting.
i was asking what was the best thing to do as i just didnt want to take it to store if all that was going to happen was customer services there were going to refund me, then maybe throw the meal away,, i WAS NOT wanting compensation, was wanting to ensure it was followed up so would not happen again..
i cant believe how nasty some people are who post... it is so easy to send presumtious posts/replies when not knowing the full facts
i only wish i could meet these kind of people in real life and could tell them face to face exactly how i feel about their silly accusations

again thanx for the informative replies

As I clearly wrote with mass produced products they'll probably never know exactly how it happend. Theres no rubber splattering machine that went slightly wrong!
