Pet Insurance Cost Cutting System/MoneySavingExpert.com Discussion

I've been considering pet insurance for my 9yr old cat & having seen good recommendations from this site about M&S pet insurance for it's excellent cover, I'm seriously thinking of insuring my puss with them. Have you checked out their site for details & an online quote ?http://www6.marksandspencer.com/pages/default.asp?PageId=MI&Product=PI
You save 10& if you book online. My quote comes out at around £200 yr, but I come under Greater London which pushes up the price a bit. If I were a mile away with a Kent postcode it would be cheaper. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I recently changed to Sainsbury's insurance for my two cats. They had an offer in store where they gave colleague rates (which was 10% off). They also gave me loads of free whiska's treats, two felix feeding stations and two cuddly dalmations. It was cheaper than my previous insurer direct line. Also the cover covers an illness for an unlimited period whereas most are for 12 months.
Good luck finding cover....0 -
This company was most competitive and we have claimed several times without problems0

E&L Has anyone used this company? I have two pets insured with them and recently submitted claims, however, they are taking a long long time in settling them. I have sent them everything they have asked for but still nothing back from them. Interested to know if anyone has any experience of them. ThanksWaddle you do eh?0

yes poppy. We used them once and once only. They were dreadful when settling a claim. I would never insure anything with E and L again0

Personally if it is something as important as the health of my dog, my home or the health of my wife then I would never go with an Insurer unless they had a great brand name that they need to protect.0

make sure the policy is for the life of the pet and not till it gets to 8 or 10 years old.The dog may live to 15years an older dog will always run up more cost more at the vets.my bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!0

You also need to get an insurance that covers the full term of any treatment and doesnt stop after just one year
Marks and Spencers offer very good cover at very good rates. They are underwritten by AXA who underwrite Pets Plan and offer the same levels of insurance for much less. They also offer no excess policies.
I use them and am very happy. Claims are paid promptly.
