    Nice pupster :D.

Is the JL low quote for their Essential cover with just £3000 in the pot? Not a big pot is it? How does it compare to Axa?

Did you get any other quotes besides the Axa one? Just wondering if Axa were the cheapest at £19 and if their cover is what you're looking for in terms of amount in the pot etc.

Yes £20 something for the lowest quote which isn't what I want and still more than axa, theirs is £7000 renewed each yr
There is a few slightly cheaper but they seem to have a set amount for the ongoing conditions ,however long it takes to reach it, then you are stuffed
I've a collie with axa and haven't claimed in 10 yrs, seems a lot of money every yr for peace of mind lol

Personally I wouldn't go with a set amount for ongoing conditions, could be used up quite quickly then, as you say, you're stuffed.

Axa's pot is quite reasonable at £7,000, that seems to be the amount with a lot of companies. Looks like from what you've researched so far Axa is coming out best at the moment.

It would be nice to find a great company that our cats could grow with. We have two kittens, not yet a year old, and they seem in perfect health. I'm looking into getting insurance though because there have been a lot pet illness in the family as of late. I've always thought you had to just pay the bill and get over it, but glad to know you can insure your pet now.

  • Just thought I'd tell you about my experience with MT.
Unfortunately my GSD Lillie passed away a little over two years ago but in the 12/15 months prior to her passing she was one poorly girl, whilst my vet tried to diagnose her she put her on a prescription food but when I tried to claim for it they just told me to go online and get it from there, I told the man that by the time I'd sourced it, ordered it and had it delivered my dog would be dead from starvation (Lillie was diagnosed with pancreatic insufficiency, its where the animal gets no nutrition from food and has bloody diarrhea), Lillie was a beefy girl a little over 9st, she went down to a little over 8st in 6 weeks so you'll understand I didn't have the time to get the prescription food online also my vet told me it wouldn't be available online as it was only available on prescription .
I sent numerous statements from the vet as to Lillies illness but time and time again they queried if my dog was really poorly.
Needless to say should I have another pet More Than will NOT be my insurers of choice.......................oh by the way they would fund acupuncture and aromatherapy:exclamati

If I could have time over again, I'd go for a much better dog policy, my Lab did her knee ligaments and that two thousand pounds ain't looking like a lot right now. What riles me is, I called them in January to see if I could upgrade their policies now they're 5 and was told I can't upgrade, I have to cancel and take out new insurance for the better policy BUT as they'll be new customers then, nothing they've ever been treated for before will be covered as it'll be classed as an existing condition. Two months later she busts her knee and I've got £2k cover for a £5k operation. My dear vet says he'll do it for 3. But I still have to find a grand.
