Could anyone suggest an insurance company for dog's aged over 9?
Crazy prices for little cover! :mad:0 -
Axa will insure with a £75 fixed excess0

Is Petplan good, and what other companies should I look at? We have a kitten.0

We are rescuing 2 brothers who are 9 years old and cats.
Anyone recommend an insurance provider who is not going to want silly moneywins so far= galaxy bar, child of our time book, with love cd :T0 -
Could do with a bit of advice! I'm looking at switching insurance on my cat (female, spayed, microchipped, 5yrs, no existing conditions) and it seems to be a minefield out there!! I'm with Sainsbury's at the moment, and my premiums have more than doubled since I took the policy out!
I've been looking at M&S, though I'm worried they'll stop doing pet insurance eventually, Churchill and LV. Does anyone have any experience with any of these, and are there any others people would recommend looking into? I'm less bothered about the cost of cover and more about what they ACTUALLY cover and how much they'll pay out in case something DOES go wrong with her, but it's all so confusing!
Any help would be greatly appreciated0 -
Im with Petplan atm for my 3 yr old cat (with no previous conditions other than anxiety)...the excess is a hefty £70 and cant afford the £12pcm premiums due to change in income. I have had a quote off directline for £8.29 pcm but their excess is also £70. Thats a saving of £44.62 per yr though. No More Buying Books: read 0/25; Bought: 0

£70 is a pretty low excess but Axa have a £50 excess, other than that most are more I think. I personally would cut the £4 a month from elsewhere & stay with Pet Plan they're miles better than anywhere else x0

@Angel. Presumably you've got £4k or £7k per year for life cover ATM.
Doing a test quote with AXA on a 3yr spayed moggie I got £7/month for £50 excess and £6/m for £100 excess. So I'd ditch PP & switch to AXA. If you've been to see a vet about the anxiety before, ask AXA what the effect would be on their cover first though.0 -
Hi,
My dog is seeking for pain in leg and thats way he don't play , i like my dog very much..0 -
Our dog is with M&S and the excess is £70. We have had to claim and they have been brilliant at paying up, and also have vet advice help line which has been useful. We pay around £12 a month, and he is a lab cross greyhound around 6 yrs old (a rescue so not sure of age!) My friend just gone with churchill, and they seem pretty reasonable, and low excess.0
