Can anyone help with Marks and spencers insurance please? Their premier plan is £17 per month (£7000 per year) for our pup if we go with them is this a good policy - is it proper cover for life.

Pinnacle quoted £25 per month (£6000 per year)

Pet plan were dearer than both over £26 for £4000 per year and £36 for £12,000 per year
Any reason to go with a dearer quote than marks?

    Thanks

I looked at M&S and when your dog reaches a certain age you have to pay a percentage of the vets bill plus the excess, this put me off.
  • Marks and Spencer also do cheaper quotes for new customers and once they have you the price soars.

If anyone is interested, I noticed that Watchdog on BBC1 are doing an item on 'supermarket pet insurance who often refuse to settle claims' this coming week. It's on at 8pm on Thursday in the HTV area. They only do items on which they have lots of complaints!
  • I saw a mention of pet insurance in a trailer for Watchdog and they mentioned Healthy Pets - but I thought it was last week.

The blurb in our TV mag said it was last week and I watched the whole show but nothing was on. At the end they mentioned it would be on this week, and the TV mag also mentions it (again!) for this week. They didn't mention any companies, just 'supermarket pet insurance'. I'm assuming all regions get the same edition as HTV.

Well I have had a look for our two 14 week old British Shorthair kittens (M + F).

At the moment Liverpool Victoria looks the best option at £16.50 per month to cover both kittnes on their Premier Policy.

This looks at least half the cost of equivalent policies with other insurers. Has anyone any experience of LV and their claims handling etc? I have a couple of weeks to sort out still as they came with 4 weeks free PetPlan from the breeder.

Looked at PetPlan and they are quoting £31.08 and £44.82 per month for their Budget and Supercat cover respectively. And Axa are quoting £35.40 per month.

Or any other advice gratefully received if I've missed the point somewhere! Thanks

Anyone any advice or experience of LV? Thanks

Have had 2 replies saying that M&S may not be a good idea.

Are Pinnacle or Petplan my best bet or are there others which offer lifetime cover at a reasonable price?

This is my first time insuring a pet and I'm not sure what I should be looking for in an insurer.

Can't speak for Pinnacle but I've gone with Petplan for peace of mind, although they are more expensive on the whole I've heard mainly good reports about them :)
