Has anyone has any experience of having to claim off one on this thread ....'healthy pets' .It looks very reasonable .Is there a catch somewhere, in as 'you only get what you pay for ' ?
have a six month old pedigree puppy and would be happier having pet insurance just in case.
Their bronze cover is only £45 per year0 -

Good luck and enjoy your furbaby and take loads of pictures cause like I said (and you've noticed) they grow up all too quickly.0 -
sackcloth wrote:Finally, wondered if anyone else had had their nil excess increased? My renewal documents included a paragraph advising that my nil excess was being increased to £50. I haven't claimed on the policy at all so have challenged this and been told that I can keep the nil excess if I renew but I'm still shopping around.
One thing I did notice when I looked around was that other insurance companies wanted to know about unroutine visits to the vets whether they were claimed for or not ... so even though you're looking around but have never claimed bear this in mind ... then again if you have nil excess I assume your dog has never been ill otherwise you would have .... anyways I found that even the fact that I'd taken my dog the vets cause it had had a bout of diarrhea (think I spelt that wrong-runny poos basically) ... the quotes were coming back excluding that condition, which is a pretty much common thing which can happen for different reasons in dogs so that's another reason I decided to stay with M&S.
Hope this helps.0 -
Does anyone know of any pet insurance companies that accept old cats. he is now aged 9 and both Direct Line and Tesco will no longer insure him for a new quote. My existing company is very expensive on renewal.0

FL, I am sure there are some older threads on this topic, but I'm having a bit of trouble with the search facility to my shame.
I have asked for a bit of help locating them so I'll post links if I can track them down.

My dog developed some leg problems during the period of insurance with Sainsbury's Bank and I have made an initial claim. They raised their premiums from £119/year to over £450 and I moved to Tesco. They are now refusing to cover any further claims for the original condition. Meanwhile the dog suffers. This can't be right can it?0

You will have to stay Sainsburys to get continous cover so this sounds correct , Tesco will not cover the condition and it will be excluded from further claims from them because it will be a pre-existing condition0
