Insurance for an old dog?

I have a 9 year old dog 9 (crossbreed) and currently paying nearly £18pm for insurance which I think is a bit on the steep side. He has a clean bill of health at the moment so should be easy to get cover for, but most of the companies I've looked at online quote for under 8 years only. Does anyone know of a company that insures older dogs?!
Experience is the toughest teacher because she gives the test first then the lesson
