  • Hi

Any one used/ tried Asda pet insurance, at all?

If yes, what do/ did you think of it?

Which cover did/ do you have:

    Value
    Standard
    or Premium

It seems pretty reasonable from what I can see...

    thanks

    Annie

None of those policies are genuine "for life" - that is, they all have a pot of money and if you use up that amount on one condition (or in 12 months on the cheapest policies) then you are on your own - they wont pay out any more than the amount shown and you may have a life long condition which you will need to fund - if you can - dont be misled by the £6k no time limit policy, it just means that you can use that £6k over any period but once its gone, thats that - you have to pay out for that condition yourself.

    ASDA
    Vet's fees
    (per condition)
    £1,500
    for 12 months
    £3,500
    for 12 months
    £6,000
    no time limit1

annieto..i have been told by various people who work at vet practices to avoid the supermarket brand insurance policies...they are cheap for a reason, and that is because they do not offer true 'for life' policies.

i have no idea, have you tried doing a search on the cashback page on this website? i think there is some sort of search tool which allows you to enter the name of a company and it then searches all the cashback sites.
  • Is the Argos platinum cover a true for life policy?

    It seems to be....

    "Platinum Cover
Covers vets fees up to £7,000 per year with no limit to the length of treatment providing your premiums are kept up to date."

The premium (£124) is slightly less than Halifax Pet Insurance Extra(£129, and the cover seems better.

I had my last dog on this, and when she died, I has no problems getting the purchase price refunded.

I have read comments on here that it isnt actually a for life policy?

I believe the new ARGOS cover is a for life, Im sure we had a discussion on it a wile back? However I wouldnt want to be with them personally.

Im confused as I have found varying notes on the Platinum policy on the net, including this one:

    1. Platinium: up to £7,000 in vet fees per condition with no time limit
The vet fees excess is only £60, regardless of the cover you go for.

So that says per condition but not per year?

Why would you not want to be with Argos? Do they have a bad reputation for pay outs or something?

I dont know anything about them, only they dont strike me as a long term insurer. In my opinion better to go with long established insurers like AXA or petplan. Have a google and see if you can find any reviews on ARGOS.
