How can a business organisation give away £143 for a £15 spend without there being a catch or breaking the law? Has anyone went through the Post Office terms and conditions yet? I've only been on these forums for a wee while and I've seen many threads which are leading members into pressure buying, I've even stopped the pressure buy myself on a thread when I posted the terms and conditions set by the company which was giving the offer.

Shouldn't these type of threads be under a specific section, entitled gambling section ?

This wasn't ever "gambling". The Post Office had terms and conditions which made no reference to how long you needed to pay premiums for - or how much the premiums needed to be. In fact, they even confirmed that cancellation of the direct debit would count as cancellation of the policy.

This was never intended from their perspective to be giving away £143 for a £15 spend - it was to encourage new customers to sign up. However, their marketing department clearly didn't consider that people might sign up just for the free cash.

So no, there was no reason for this to be in a specific section.

Well BigJonnyB, I have never got anything for nothing and that's why I'm responding to this thread with scepticism.

How many people can confirm they got their £143 for spending just £15? and how many people can confirm that they will not be charged extra if the company involved decides there was a mistake?

No one can confirm that they have recieved £143 yet - as the first batch of payments from the post office aren't due until the end of the month (or any day now), and quidco is validated but wont pay until November.

It has been confirmed by the post office that they will be paying out - and if they didn't they'd be looking at legal action from a lot of people on here (and other sites) for not fulfilling their own end of the contract.

I'm not really sure what you mean by 'charging extra' - as the life insurance for a fiver a month isn't a mistake, it is still available at this price now (albeit with different terms for the cashback). A company can't decide to simply charge more for something after a few months.

There isn't anything wrong with being sceptical - but there is free money out there - if you're prepared to do some research. There are enough examples on this sites (risk free sportsbetting, casino bonuses, free goods from Tescos, referrals etc etc).

AS mentioned I have had £15 taken out my account and someone was told we should hear by the end of October so guess it is the waiting game.

Its not gambling, its an incentive programe, I can only presume the last thing the Post office expected was it to be as popular. There was no pressure buying, if you look at any company for example Axa Sunlife, apply for a quote get a free pen, take out the policy you get a free gift, in the case of the Post Office its £100. Yes the loophole that has been exposed is that in the incentive of £100 is being paid after 3 months, so therefore after 3 months there is nothing stopping you cancelling the policy. It would be the same principle as buying a mobile phone, the saleman gets commision, the Avon Lady, she gets a % of the sale. Its all legal and above board, just being made popular.
Yes there may be people that cancel the policy after the 3 months, but there will also be people that continue the policy. For those that continue, dont forget that the Post Office get interest on the money, and hopefully if someone has a 10 yr policy, and survives the policy, the post office has had 10 years of payment, plus interest.......no payout, a lot more than the £100 offered in the 1st place.
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Hadn't checked up on this thread for a while, but after getting fed up with the Big Snap and the Bofferthon and checking my funds I realised my third DD to PO had come out on 13th Oct also. As soon as anyone receives a letter or phones PO up to chase up cashback can you post it here please so we can all follow suit!

    Hi ya,

I think we are all playing the " waiting game " at the moment .... My 3rd payment came out on the 9th Oct, so will hopefully hear something soon ...
I keep checking this thread everyday to see if anyone has received their letter yet !!
Fingers crossed ...that we don't have to wait too long ...
