Help, Claiming from Halifax Credit Card

Hey, had trouble with my internet connection (Grrrr BT)
Well done Thriftymomma!! I called and was told the same as what you found and posted. I have untill 22nd of October. But the lady I spoke to said that noone escalated my claim on the computer but they did send out my letter!! So she said she has forwarded it on and it should be dealt with asap, but she could not give a timescale!
I did read somewhere that someone accepted the offer as part payment then requested the intrest too.. so could maybe try that? Im still waiting to hear, almost pouncing on the postman every morning. I dont know wether I should give them a call to check the progress or would they think I was being pushy? really not sure what to do.. But well done 2 phonecalls thats great if only it was that easy for me - but then again I am asking for the full amount plus interest

Oh awkward beggars! For me I figure they don't mind as I still have quite a balance on my card so they arenot totally losing out by giving me my charges as they only come to around 350. With interest it is nearly 500 so I will defo be asking for it I think. In fact I might send a letter while I am waiting for Halifax to send me my offer as I worry that not having gone down the proper channels, like you it may not have been logged properly om the computer so i could be waiting forever.
Keep at it and we shall both conquer eventually. Keep me posted! Good luck x

Well I still have a balance of 1000 on my card and the limit is 500 so still being charged!! Hopefully they will want to pay me off so I can pay the card off. and the change would do very nicely just about now!! Heres hoping you get your interest back too! May have to ring them again and pester them to find out what is going on! Bugt well done so far!

Well finally heard a response from Halifax:

Details of your complaint have been passed to me blah blah blah....

As a gesture of goodwill, we offered to refund £604.00 on the credit card account. I am sorry that you were dissatisfied with this offer. Having reviewed the account, I am willing to offer £1418, totalling the full amount of defult charges you requested. I would also be willing to offer £362.33 in intrest, as you have calculated at 8%

The offer to refund the full amount plus interest totals at £1780.33!!!!!

Phoned Halifax and was told the outstanding balance was £1200 I was under the impression it was £1000 but hey at lease I have £580, which will be going into our savings ( currently £100!! lol) and kept for a rainy day.

So lets hope everyone else does as well as mee!!

Yay! Well Done!
I got my first offer lett, gave them a call two weeks later and said could I have more than they were offering please, as it was a joke offer lol. They said, we'll escalate it and then just over a week later I got a letter saying they had repaid full charges and interest totalling £100 more than I had worked out back to my CC, WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT!! Wooooooooohooo.
Thanks MSE! 2 Phonecalls and I am far better off. Wouldn't have dared probably without the guidance and support of others here so cheers!
