Well, I have read through this thread, and fully agree with Tozer and Jo4.

Don't let them get away with this Bulldog. I would go through all your documentation with a fine toothed comb, and collect any shreds of evidence you can find. If they do try to sue you for the £750 (which I can't see them successfully doing) you will have your case fully prepared.

I would write to the MD of Mini UK. Quite often, we become embroiled in disputes with unhelpful call centre staff who couldn't give two hoots about helping us; whereas a quick, polite, yet concise and pointed letter to the right person can slash the response times and get you nearer to the result you want.

Good luck with this. I am certain you will succeed if you put the extra work in.

Thank you for your support Superflygal, I think I will give them til monday to respond and then take it higher!!
  • After leaving me waiting for ages not knowing what was going on, they have finally admitted that it was their 'mistake' and they had actually put the execss miles on the car after driving it to Newcastle!!

Beware of this...I don't think it was a mistake at all, more like they were trying it on and were hoping I'd just pay it without investigating it!!
