Are the Empire ones the same as the Tesco ones? Do you have a website link? I am desperate for 2 of these for my boys. Phoned round all the tesco stores within a 15 mile radius yesterday with no luck at all!

Yes they are the same ones.... I just ordered two and used a discount code to save £15 as I was spending over £30...

Code easily found if you do a search for Empire Stores....

http://www2.empirestores.co.uk/cgi-bin/empireshopping.storefront - sorry don't know how to do a link but this is the web address - think it's in xmas section.
    The £2 Coin Savers Club £78 as of 7th July 2006 :D
  • just took a peep at the empire stores one.there were 2....but am i right in thinking the ones from tesco are the interactive type and this one from empire store is just remote control?

Managed to get two at last from empire and even cheaper than tesco using the discounts. I already have an account with them.

I would say they are the same as the tesco ones, since only one version of the gold type, apart from the smaller size ones you can get in a pair.

    Thank you all
I think the tesco staff were starting to hide from me as I kept popping in to see if any Daleks had arrived!
I ordered two from the Empire web site using code pb2506 and it cost me £29.99 and I get free vanity cases (whatever they are!)
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

just had a look and it looks the same as the tesco one to me. not bad price £24.99 considering everything else in empire seems to be more expensive.

On the Empire website, it states that delivery expected in 3 weeks. I am just worried that I will place the order and then they will send me an e-mail in 3 weeks time to say that they cannot fulful the order! Thats what happened to my sis-in-law who was ordering the dalek battlepack thru Amazon for me...she placed the order (the website said delivery within 1-2 weeks), and after 3 weeks got an e-mail to say they could not get hold of them! One of the websites I was looking at said they couldnt guarantee delivery before chrismtas! I'll keep ringing Tescos over the next couple of days and see what comes up - otherwise will try my luck at Empire (by which time it will probably say stock due in 8 weeks!!!!! :rotfl: ). Thanks for all the fab info though....hopefully will have 2 happy sons for xmas!!

Ok - have slept on it.....
Have ordered from Empire the twin battle pack (which is what I was after in the first place until the Tescos post). Their price is £40 where as everywhere else is £30. But with the £15 discount code it comes to £25 and delivery expected in 3 wks. Will still try to get the Tescos one as well.... If I end up with 2 big and 2 small I'd rather that than none at all!!!
Thanks to the OP for Tesco info and thanks for the Empire info/disc codes.
  • They had 3 on the shelf at tesco's yeading on monday so they are coming in. I suppose you just have to keep checking.
    HOW MUCH ?
