remote control interactive dalek tesco's £20 (merged)

Popped into Leyland tonight and their computer system said they had 7. However, the staff on electrical said that that didn't mean anything.... but went into the stores and brought out the last one. There was another under the counter reserved for someone (probably another MSE-er). I don't think these Daleks are getting as far as the shelves!

Amazing how some tescos let you reserve and others insist you cant

I have found most tescos stores i have contacted unfriendly.They either very vague in answering questions,try to make all sought of excuses about reserving,stock etc , dont bother picking phone up on most occasions and on one occasion even had somone put the phone down on me.

Even Aldi and Lidl have a better customer support, you cant ring them from home but if i find i have missed out on a bargain at the store they always ring the local stores for me and let me reserve it. With them you always have the sense of feelling they trying to help you, but not with tesco staff.

When I reserved mine, the woman said that they aren't allowed to reserve but I said that I didn't want to travel all that way to find they had sold it. I even offered to pay over the phone using my visa card so that they would hold it but she said they couldn't do that, but she did reserve it until lunch time.

I went into Tesco's in Aberdeen late on Monday night to see if they had stock - the problem was that the toys dept was being totally refurbished and all the toys were packed away. The woman checked the stock using the bar code provided in this forum and there were 8 left. The woman had a look in the boxes for about half an hour with no luck. She asked me to leave my name and number and they would contact me if she found them.

I got a phonecall on Tuesday afternoon saying that one had been reserved for me and I picked it up yesterday.

A big thumbs up to the woman who helped me out in tesco's :T

hi went to coventry last night they said they had eight in stock but could not find them went back this morning spoke to lad in charge of the section and got two for my brother ,he said they were the only two that came in and that the stock that is shown is actually on permenant back order he says it is the same with the psp they show in stock but havent actually got any .

also they dont seem to be in the toy section they are with the christmas gift section

i guess thats why i,m having no luck in getting one over the phone ( i did try the coventry branch too but no luck) they probably have a few left at the back or not in the usual place for the staff to notice them easily.

has anyone managed to get a dalek from a North East Store?

managed to get one today in crawley -just woundering when a i press the play sound button the 2 ear things light up and voices plays but the illuminated eye doesnot light up .. does this just work with the remote or should it be working now and in which case i need a replacement

The eye should work when you press the button on the Dalek. Mine (or rather my son's) does.
