Whilst these look like good fun they are not the same as the large remote control Daleks with the voices.

Also everyone remember if you are going to get two to use together, ie for siblings, you will need to get one that works on 27mhz and one that works on 40mhz or else the controllers will interfere with each other.

    Thank you!

May I just ask then, the ones at Tesco, do you actually need two to make them work? Sorry dumb question probably, but looking at the similar ones, they need two to fight?

To be honest I really don't know a great deal about the different types, I've only read some product descriptions as I may get one as a Xmas present for my wife.

I haven't read any mention of combat functions for the large remote control versions with voice commands, I've only seen that mentioned in the descriptions of the packs containing two 4" Daleks, so I doubt the big ones have IR emitters or sensors to trigger "hits" with another Dalek. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I only mentioned the radio frequency issue because I read it in the product descriptions of the Daleks on the play.com site. Not having seen a Tesco Dalek I have no idea what frequency they work on. One Dalek on it's own will work fine but if you try to use two the same in the same room then their controllers will intefere with each other and so you wont be able to use both at the same time. It appears the ones on the play.com site have different frequencies depending what colour they are, black gold, white, silver etc.

Just to save anyone else ringing - I rang Customer Sevices at head office and asked if they could tell me any local stores with stock of the Dalek - they cannot do it. You need to ring the stores themselves.

Edit : Leyland Extra - expected tomorrow. Sold all they had.
Wigan Extra - hadn't heard of them - though didn't check the barcode in the system.
Chorley Extra - none in. No delivery details of any more in system.

Bursuldon tesco getting stock in next 2 days. Portmouth Tesco had 3 out back - got 1 and when it came out people started asking so unlikely to be any left. Should have got 2! Could come in handy as a prezzie - they are quite cool :)

My local tesco did a barcode check and they had them: YES!
A manager overheard though and said that although the computer said they were in stock they actually wouldn't be in for another 2 weeks. Hmmm I thought it was a bit suspicious :(
