It used to be gardening, and I once bred beautiful show budgies, and had various other birds.

    Now - MSE:o .

Although my sons and I collect miniature railway stuff with the hope of eventually having room to build a model railway (steam era) - but mainly only at Christmas and Birthday times.

    I do collect Orchids though.

    google scrabulous! it's fabulous!

Hobbies, the odd run/occaisional bike ride/dog walking - keep fit as opposed to hobbies?

On my Cv it says hobbies, all of above, reading, socialising (i wish) and spending time with family/friends.

It's on my CV so must be true!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

I try to jump out of a plane at least once a month and scuba dive whenever I can. All other adrenalin activities (in the warmth- no skiing!) are open play as well!

Add to the very regular rugby training and games, and any other social sporting.

Recently, kongregate has got me rather addicted too!
School is important, but Rugby is importanter.

I've just signed up. It may be good for player v player, but it's not much use if you want to play a computer. It's awful! I just played a game on level 10 and the highest it scored was 34!
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Didn't have much time for hobbies while the family were growing up but have rediscovered them since they all grew up and flew the nest!

So here we go - quizzes; reading; knitting; crocheting; needlework; dressmaking/sewing; family interests; listening to music and I love my holidays!

    ...Bagpipe playing...dementing!!!!...

No wonder folks 'down south' think Carlisle's north of the border. :rotfl:

My hobby is on hold at the moment, as having horses + saving for a house = :naughty: But as soon as I've got that house bought and paid for, I'll be back in the frugal stakes saving for another horse. :D In the meantime, I guess moneysaving is my hobby/passion/addiction/heeeeeeelp.... I get withdrawal symptoms from saving when I need to spend a penny!
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Frugal living challenge - living on little in 2025 while frugalling towards retirement.
  • I enjoy making greeting cards - probably doesn't save money but it has given me a social life with clubs etc. I make curtains and cushion covers - which does save money.
I also enjoy letterboxing, which can be frustrating when somebody moves the box - often unintentionally when the not so clever dogs find them and present them to the owner who has no idea where it came from - but it adds to the fun (umm sometimes).

BTW this is my first ever post - been too scared to in the past - silly me!
  • I don't recall my parents having hobbies - does that count as the old days? They had interests though, keeping a dog, watching television, reading and Sunday rides out in the car.

I'm just getting back to cross stitch and reading after busy 3 years of Uni. When we move house and I can have another dog I'll return to obedience training and maybe showing. :p
