We were hoping to keep our vouchers to use for a big holiday next year and have been saving them but we didn't realise that some expired at the end of May and some at the end of August. It is £30 with of vouchers in total.
I phoned tesco today and they told me that they give me 2 years to use them and they will not be extending them. That was it, he wouldn't budge on that at all.
Should I try again or is this the policy?
I was told in theory you should get the vouchers back to them before they expire, but they will give you about a weeks grace on that. Based on that 11 Sept is a bit longer than a week.0 -
Hi
A while ago someone in this forum me he gets Hilton vouchers with his tesco tokens for more than the value of the room and that he could used the excess for meals and drinks. When I booked today I asked if that was possible and Hilton reservations said no.
I have in the past booked with Marriott and they do not allow this - but I understood that when booking with Hilton you get Hilton vouchers, not Tesco vouchers so that in actual fact you could use them on anything at Hilton.
However as reservations said not I am now confused.
Any help appreciated. Thanks

I've read through most of this thread and have a question about the recycling of phones program.
I can get hold of a load of really old mobiles for about £2 each - all working (technically although you need old fashioned Sim etc).
Now Tesco state "If you have an old mobile phone that is not listed on the website, don’t worry as you can still receive 200 Clubcard Points if it turns on"
So techincally I should get 200 points for each - up to 5 limit obviously
Anyone tried something similar?
Also on the named phone section where they give you gift card as well there appears to be no limit on recycling is this true?

But every time I've been they have taken the 'excess' of my bill. I've got some more recently with about £30 extra which I will use when I go next month. If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
Found out on Friday that you can use your clubcard when using the Tesco cafe. Quite a suprise to get an extra 10 CC points for my lunch0

Has anyone used their Tesco vouchers for P & O cruises? The virgin restriction of £700 + having to pay cash for taxes and surcharges make that less of a bargain, plus the cosmos £400 restriction makes that a non starter, I thought perhaps the cruises are the best deal.
We booked our first Clubcard cruise with P&O for next October on Oceana. We worked out it was worth our while overall, but please do bear the following drawbacks in mind:
You won't get any onboard credit or free parking benefits you might otherwise be entitled to.
You could get about 10% off the clubcard deals price by booking with most travel agents.
We worked out that our booking saved us about £550 in total, taking into account the face value of the vouchers, the 'lost' benefits and lost discount.
We've taken 10 cruises with P&O, they are fabulous!!!0 -
Sorry TechJinx, only just read your post but may be able to help.I've read through most of this thread and have a question about the recycling of phones program.

Be careful of these old mobile phones. I've sent off a few of them in recent months. Most of these very old phones have batteries that will not hold any charge - so they will not turn on when tested. If the mobile phone doesn't work you only get 50 clubcard points. As its in the recycling companies interest to give 50 points value rather than 200 you can be reasonably sure they won't take the trouble of plugging in a charger before testing that it switches on. 50p worth of points for a phone you've paid £2 for not good business.
It can take weeks before the green points get credited to your clubcard account so you have to be keeping a very close watch on your account to be able to work out how many points your old mobile has earned you. And if you also recycle ink jet cartridges it will be almost impossible to keep track of your recycling efforts.
I have no experience of recycling a newer phone through the website - but I agree with you I believe there is no limit. The value they pay is low. Could be better to sell your newer phone on ebay then use the proceeds to buy an unregistered temporary clubcard already loaded with points.0 -
To double up you must have multiples of £5 in vouchers.0

Does anyone else have reason to suspect the Ink Jet Recycling system is less than honest.
Its almost impossible to track how many points are credited for the envelopes posted; even Customer Services can only state how many Green Points were credited on what date - they say have no idea whether it was for Mobile Phones or Ink Jet Cartridges.
Over the past few months I have regularly posted both items for recycling green points and assess I should have earned in the region of 5,000 points - instead I have been credited with less than 3,000. Matching the dates the points were added with the dates I posted, the omissions appear to be with the Company that recycles Ink Jet Cartridges.
To account for the missing points there must have been an amazing number of envelopes lost in the post or an incredible failure rate in the used cartridges I sent (even though I closely inspected each one before posting)
Has anyone else had a similar experience??
Given the number of complaints in this thread about points not showing up in accounts I can't help thinking its a deliberate strategy by Tesco Clubcard to make it as difficult as possible to accurately track our points entitlement. After all, missing points is cash in their pockets Every Little Helps - THEM0
