likewise both my wife and i received our quarterly clubcard statements and both of us noted the lack of worthwhile useable coupons.
where have all the decent double pts coupons etc gone?
we each had
10p off a reusable bag
win 1000 clubcard points
£1.50 off martini, which neither of us drink or have ever bought?
i too would tend to agree that it looks like they are gradually winding down this scheme.0 -
There was talk a while ago of some of the tesco recycling centres only giving points for aluminium cans, nothing else.
Mine gives a point for 4 items of glass, metal or plastic. The scanners often won't scan your clubcard so you don't get the points, and the machines are broken more often than not so you have to take your recycling home with you - there's nowhere to leave it. Tesco don't fix the machines, they're not tesco's property so it could be days before a fault is fixed.
The machines often don't recognise what you're putting in, and they tell you to remove it, or they class it as 'unknown' so you don't get the points. After a party I recycled 52 beer cans and ten wine bottles, but instead of 15 points I got 2 points because the machine didn't recognise what I was putting in.
When it works it's great, but it hardly ever works. Not a problem if you are driving to tesco anyway and can just leave your recycling in the car if the machine is broken.
Re-using carrier bags for your shopping is a more reliable way to earn points, and seems like the only way of getting extra points at the moment!
the food club sent me a coupon for 30 points but i've had nothing else for ages.52% tight0 -

My Store machine has changed so we only get 1 point for 2 cans put in - that is if its actually working :mad:Wife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

tesco told me that the recycling machines are owned and run by a polish company and are nothing to do with tesco, they just rent space on the tesco car park. There's also a polish car wash company who rent a space for their metal shed, and ask everyone if they want their car washed while they are shopping.
There must be some sort of agreement with tesco for the clubcard points to be given. A private firm of engineers comes out (daily!) to fix the machines.52% tight0 -

I rang clubcard to change my address. They said that I had some vouchers that I have not spent but were out of date - I had lost them in the house move. Although the date on the vouchers was past - they said that they would re-issue them on my next mailing in February. This worked for vouchers that ran out in August but was too late for the ones in May.0

Just got my baby and toddler mailing and all the vouchers were for money off rather than extra points, except 1 for a prize draw.0
