As a whole, I don't think redeeming holiday vouchers are a good way to spend Clubcard Deals. This is because you have to book directly with the holiday companies who often charge you full brochure price when you are redeeming. For example, the cruises with Ocean Village and P&O can only be paid for in vouchers based on the FULL BROCHURE price. Very often, you can get a much better deal by going through a travel agent. Therefore, it is wiser to spend the vouchers on other deals.
I don't necessarily agree - admittedly we haven't spent our clubcard vouchers on a holiday but it covered the cost of a long weekend stay in one of the Classic Lodges hotels which we definitely wouldn't have been able to afford if we'd had to actually pay for it, our only real costs were petrol and food money.
Plus you can spend vouchers on days out.If I have been of any assistance, or my information is useful, please press the "Thanks" button0 -
Thought I'd add my thoughts....for what they're worth...
With clubcard deals I try and look at the bigger picture for the year, as opposed to individual deals.
For example I want the peace of mind of RAC cover - so for me the RAC deal is good value.
I also want to enjoy days out - so theme park deals etc are also good for me.
Holidays - purely in terms of price I can get a better deal myself when compared to the 'true' points conversion ratio.
Also if I used my points on a holiday this would in effect blow many of my annual points in one go.
But that's just what I do! Doesn't make it right!

Hey Dude, I'm with you with regard to RAC.
I have been with the RAC for years and I would not be without them. It will be only the second year I have paid by using my Tesco vouchers and as the renewal date is in December I am very glad that I don't have to part with the cash, just redeem the vouchers. It's a big saving for me.0 -
Hi everyone
I read on a previous board that you can get clubcard points for recycling cans/bottles etc. I am sure i checked the website last week when i read it, and it said if you recycle 4 items you get a point - but i wanted to check as i didnt want to start saving my bottles for nothing - and now it has gone from the website.
Does anyone know if you still get points for recycling? Am hoping to use our points for a honeymoon/wedding ringsBCT:[strike]£16,500 [/strike] £0 HFC CURRYS: [strike]£520[/strike] £0 HFC PC WORLD: [strike]£800[/strike] £0 ARGOS CARD: [strike]£795[/strike] £0 ADDITIONS DIRECT: [strike]£625[/strike] £0 NATIONWIDE CC: [strike]£1560[/strike] £0 VIRGIN CC: [strike]£1500[/strike] £0 :j0 -
I don't recall them ever doing this, it would be pretty hard to regulate I'd have thought. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

Its to do with certain recycling centers - you scan your clubcard before you use them and then you put the items in the hole one at a time n they crush them automatically...
Theres only a few of the machines all over, i know we have got the machines in a few Tesco's near me, but i dont know if the scanners on them still work

I recently booked our family holiday to France with my clubcard vouchers as I had a really good couple of quarters collecting and I only ever buy what I will use - otherwise I would not have been able to book a holiday for next year and would have to see how things are then, so I am happy with that...however the last quarter was terrible and tesco really seem to be cutting back on all avenues to collect points, so to be honest I am only shopping there now on occasion as I find Morrisons to have much better value day to day... I still love tescos but just can't warrant shopping there all the time now...Jun GC £250.00/£12.40 NSD 3 / 30

I feel the same as Orchid-96, and wonder if they are trying to run the scheme down. I liked the extra points offers but they are far and few between now and not even on the quarterly mailing when they send the vouchers. I find it much cheaper to shop at Asda. Agree that Morrisons have some good offers but their store is just that bit too far to justify the journey. I can still get points on the tesco credit car however and hope they keep the days out deals.:j0
