When the 500 points for the soft & gentle deodorant deal was on the Tesco grocery website, I called them up (0800 591688) to question whether the 500 points was per item or per transaction...
After calling on 4 separate occasions (on one occasion I was transferred to the Tesco grocery 'hotline') and after they presumably consulted their manager, I was told that it was per transaction on 3 occasions (with no real conviction, thus me calling back 3 further times!) and 1 person saying it was per item.
I ordered (alot!) nevertheless as the promotion on the website was non-specific and previous promotions labelled in the same were on a points per item basis.
They are getting delivered tomorrow night so will let you know what the receipt says.
As per the previous post, I believe we should fight to get our 500 points per item!!
P.S anyone who requires a screen shot of the offer (if Tesco ask you to provide proof etc), please PM me0 -
True anealk, tesco plays games and does decieve people so much as they change the rules when you have ordered etc. Im determined to fight them with this. jem0

Granted, it would've been better if someone at GHS 'knew' - and there were the people who would know; I would have thought it obvious that it was an error. Why would Tesco give 500 pts for an item that costs a couple of quid!!?
GHS & Direct items are sold as 'guide prices' i.e. an 'offer to treat' (if I remember my consumer law) seems logical that that also applies to Tesco points. They are entitled to point out that the '500' was an error - surprised that wasn't done.
Besides, ordering 'a lot' would be classed as bulk buying, and because it would prevent them fulfilling other customer's needs, it's just as likely that it will be cancelled!
But, if you don't get the points you were expecting, i.e. the items ordered didn't meet your expectations -return them. A case of nice try, better luck next time!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
yer well 50 each wasnt to bad either, and the mrs will smell nice for quite sometime too
better luck next time

Watch out. I had my clubcard stuff through this morning and I'm missing 300 points. I did the easter promotion whereby you had to choose 5 items from a given list have it delivered and you would get 300 clubcard points.
I rang up clubcard who said they had had a couple of calls about this promotion already today but it was down to groceries to sort out as they hadn't put the points through to them. Rang groceries. Didn't really know what I was talking about couldn't track my order as it was on the old system which has now be deleted off the new system ( it was only April!). Anyway took my details going to get a manager to look into it.
So beware if you think your points are down this could be why. I wasn't convinced that tescos would be able to count and hence I kept all my receipts so I could backtrack! Sorry to say I was right.!!0 -

I do wish that Tesco would provide a statement of points gained so we can keep track of them, there have been times when I was sure I should have more.0
