Any here drive a Smart Car?

I have bought 2 and both had cracked turbo needing expensive repair - they only seem to be good for about 70k miles but shouldn't be a problem for an 07 plate - note you are about on the edge of a big facelift/new engine at that age so go for the new model if possible.
Allegedly engine remap helps with the slow gear change and improves motorway performance. Wider front wheels/tyres improves stability for motorway use for example with buffeting when passing large vehicles.
When Smarts were first launched in the UK they only came with a 2 year/25,000 mile warranty. Quite pathetic back then. They now have a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty but the original warranty has always made me suspicious of the longevity of the car.The man without a signature.0 -

How humiliating- I call myself Focus Lady :rotfl:
Think I might have to swop cars.
Done feel too bad, some smart drivers are sneaky, with a few mods.
Was it one of these?0 -
There is an ad on the TV at the moment for a Smart car saying how many miles it can travel (400+) on a tank full of petrol.
The car ends up on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle0 -

Girlfriend had an 03 plate Passion bought new, was fine for short journeys, but on long journeys became uncomfortable to sit in.
Gave up on smarts after teh engine blew due to a melted sparkplug 1 month out of warranty. (car had been smart / mercedes serviced everytime)
The mercedes dealer offered 60% of the repair cost as a good will gesture,
She now drives a ford KA, which says it all i guess
