  • Hi everyone! Back again!

Haven't posted in a few days but have been saving up the pennies and the pounds and have managed to pay off another £30 amongst various debts!

Am looking forward to getting my total owed to less than £3k!
It's fun deciding which debt gets it first! *is sad*

Keep it up everyone! Think positively! x

    Morning all

Have just paid another 57p off catalogue. I am excited about tomorrow as the balance will be under £20. I am dying to pay it all off but i think it is mnore important that i keep making my payments every day (however tiny) so that i keep in the habit for the next debt to pay off.

    Katie

Katie, I am with you here. I could move money from my saings and clear my Barclaycard, but I want to keep them where they are and slowly pay every day as it is a 'mindset' kind of thing. If there was no daily challenge, I would just be spending the little extra money on rubbish like chocolate, magazines, etc, which I am learning to live without. (Or get on here as cheap trials rather than full price in the shop)

Anway - £1.07 for me today.

I got all excited yesterday because I thought the Barclaycard bill had arrived. Alas, it was a load of cheques asking me to move more money onto the card. No way.......

Off to see what I can do today to make my payment today - may look at my accounts and see if I can do a bit of rounding off :D

I have just checked my bank balance and transferred another £5.

Yesterday I finally reset all my passwords for the joint account (an internet account which dh and I pay into out of our wages and this is then used for the mortgage and bills). While I was doing that I set up a savings account attached to the joint account so that I can start saving with that in the same way as I'm doing with my personal account. In the 2 years we've had this account I think I've only looked at it a couple of times because I could never remember the passwords. It was a bit of an eye-opener and I discovered some charges to the account  due to a mismatch in timings between a direct debit going out and dh's money going in. So today I'll be looking at claiming some bank charges back. These will make a nice addition to the savings:j

Thanks again Emily - I'd never have bothered looking without your wonderful challenge.

£5.07 seems like a good amount for me to pay to egg too!
Going on holiday on tuesday, so tomorrow's payment will be the last for a couple of weeks.
For the first time in years we have managed to save our spending money so at least debts will not go up while we are away!
Then it will be back to serious money making & paying off!
  • I've been doing really well and have knocked off over £70 with my daily bits and bobs and money jar saving etc.... Thanks for this thread!
