he does keep washing it, not overly tho, and as i have said doesnt seem bothered or in pain, to the point that i just caught my neighbours cat screaming at my cat as he pinned him to the floor! so much for being poorly eh! my little streetfighter doesnt seem that under the weather! he doesnt have that "ill" look they get - the one you cant describe but when you just know your cat is poorly!
havent got any hibiscrub, although my friend works for nhs and always has a supply so will get some from her. good thinking!!
i have booked a vets appointment but will just see how it goes between now and sat, i hate taking them to the vets, and used to be in there all the time with every tiny scratch, but figure sometimes the stress of taking them to teh vets, then giving them antibs (and losing several layers of skin myself in the process!!) for somethign which would heal itself, isnt worth the stress to my poor kitty sometimes!!
fingers crossed he gets better without antibiotics0 -

Once you start with cat rescue you never truly escape unless you emigrate. I tried that, emigrated from England to Wales, and still got sucked in again:rotfl: .
TBF they are usually not much hassle, but about 10 mins from now my big white with black smudges boy (Dopey to one and all) will come and plonk himself in front of me on the computer desk and keep shifting on to my hand as I move the mouse. This will go on until I manage to get Tigger in (he likes to play hard to get) and feed the lot of them and shut them in the utility for the night.
There are 10 indoors (well in and out iyswim) - the other 4 I inherited from my mum, and they have had to have a cattery outside as my cats just will not tolerate them coming in en-masse, and they seem to get upset if I separate them.
Seriously, try bathing or soaking in Hibiscrub (as I am doing with a bitten tail at the moment) - it's not as if the vet is going to give them a pain killer so as long as it is not infected it just has to heal up in its own time. Took my black Scruffy to the vets with a burst abscess last year - felt so guilty for not finding it but it was inside her back leg and she was so fluffy she looked as if she had pj bottoms and it was one place where I just had not noticed any damage. He put her on antibiotics but madame kept sicking them up  - so we just went back to bathing with hibiscrub and keeping an eye on her and she was fine."there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -
The Hibiscrub would be suitable for normal wounds, but don't use it in the eye. Just keep using the salty water.
If you can, ring the vet for advise as if it is infected it could damage his eyesight.
I hope your cat is better soon.0
