Natwest Account review

Hi guys, I agreed to having an account review on Friday and I am really worried after reading the posts on here.
I have 3 bank accounts all overdrawnand I know this is the reason why they want me to go in. Also, I have already had one review where they asked me whether I wanted to take out a loan and I said no and that I would sort out my overdraft in installments and they agreed, I may try this again.
Maybe a member of staff could answer this:
If I ask them to freeze my interest rates which is a crippling £65/month and I choose a repayment plan of £500/month would they agree?
Regards

funny seeing this thread - just had a call today asking me to have a review.I opened my account begining of last year and had a review late last year where I ended up with a loan, and a ISA.I use my overdraft - never worry normally - keep within my limit , pay money in regualar etc..
What could they possibly want to review?0 -
Natwest have been asking me and my OH for weeks now to set up an appointment for an account review. I have refused in branch and when asked via telephone banking, I said we would not be looking to review our account until we remortgage shortly. I asked why I was being continuously asked for a review and the advisor said - when you are in your overdraft, the advisors are trained to ask you in for a review and that they will advise you to take out a loan to pay the overdraft as it is less interest.
I went into branch yesterday (I go weekly to pay cheques in) and the advisor printed off 2 A4 sheets of paper in the middle of my transaction. I then had a phone call at around 6pm from one of the branch staff members asking to make an appointment for a review. I told her that I was not interested in a review at the moment, not to mention did not have the time. She then proceeded to tell me that I was IN BREACH of my contract as I had not been out of my overdraft for at least 3 days a month since May. That is ABSOLUTE rubbish! I check my account every week and I know for a fact that is not true! I pay in cheques once a week and my wages go in every fortnight. Yes- we use the overdraft facility but the account in constantly active and what they are saying is not true.
I am SO angry! What is my next step?? I don't want to change accounts as, regardless of this, I like banking with Natwest for many reasons.
Do I write a letter of complaint or do I continue to ignore the harassment - which, quite frankly, it does feel like!
I am angry because it feels as if they just want us to take out a loan which I do not want to do. I am happy with my overdraft facility and if I wanted a loan - I would ask for one!
Thanks in advance. Sorry for the long post!
Telephone banking have prompts on there screen when you call them. So for example if you have a high overdraft the prompt with be for a loan on the advisors screen OR for an other example if you change your address a prompt will come up for home insurance etc. If a prompt dont come up for what ever reason if you have a risk indicator 7 or above they will pass you through to TAS (sales) to try and sell you something. If you ask in branch for marketing to be removed the prompts will not come up when you call telephone banking.
I hope that helps :jIm an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

I had a call a couple of years ago from someone claiming to be my branch manager and saying that he'd been targetted to do a review with every customer by the end of the year. I too had always been in the black so couldn't see the reason. I said that it wasn't convenient for me to go into town so he asked if I'd be prepared to do it over the phone. When I said it wasn't convenient at that time we made an appointment for him to call me at 16:00 the next day. I waited till 16:05, then went out. No calls, no messages and never heard another thing. I guess he'd decided that he wasn't going to succeed in selling me anything ;-)0 -

So if I have a decent risk indicator - I will be asked when I call or go into the branch?
Thanks!0 -
I get asked to have a review about my accounts. (not Abbey) Find it quite ironic when they ring.
So they want me who has no debts to go in for a review and take advice from a bank who was in billions of debt?0 -
Shoot me down in flames if you like but...
1. Chances are, yes captain obvious, natwest are trying to claw back overdrafts to be more 'secure', or lend to more 'lucrative' customers.
2. Probably hate the fact you are always in your overdraft for an extended period of time?
I myself, with natwest, since finishing uni, have been in my overdraft constantly, however I have a separate savings account with them and my OD limit is only £350, interest free. no credit cards or loans.
Just beware of the advantage gold current account. There is nothing 'gold' about it. lol Prob gold element comes from the mint they are making from gold customers.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Much like most people on this forum to be honest
Because they don't have an A4 piece of paper to say they are in the know?
