Well no where near as good as all the wonderful monkeys here.

    but here is starbrite

i have no buttons for the eyes and unsure on how to do mouth yet. However what has been fab about a trial run is i know what to improve on next time. I want to do more rounded ears. the tail needs to be shorted and generally just better proportion. And not to use kids socks. was a nightmare doing the arms and they could do with having a bit more seem allowance.

but i am quite chuffed of my quick little make. took start to finish just under 2 hours. but that did include an hour of trying to turn the arms right way as they were so thin. but i kept on with it.

Best bit tho, i have three little kids who absolutley love starbrite. And i'm sure once done they won't care about the wonky arms and huge tail.

Wow you were quick of the mark! Once the eyes and mouth are on he will look super-sweet.
I bet there will be a fight in your house to see which child gets to claim it first!

jcr16 - he is great. and you make him so quickly. even with a sewing machine mine take 1 - 2 evenings to make!!!

Pennib - she is lovely. i love those socks.

not done pattern yet but not forgotton. must get off computer and do it!! :P
  • I've just discovered this thread and the idea of sock monkey's! I love it. I'm thinking of making Mum and Dad (and probably sister so she doesn't feel left out) one each for Christmas already. Must dig out some odd socks I know I've got lurking in my drawer for practice.

Been browsing the thread and everyone's look fantastic! I don't have a sewing machine (well, Mum does. But I haven't the faintest idea how to use it) so they'll be hand stitched. I've been after a creative project and this'll be perfect! :)
