nuttybabe; haha, I know it seems so wrong somehow to wear them!

That's the trouble when you get so excited making something new, that doing
a pattern as you go along is going to slow ya down, when you want to see
    the finished toy a.s.a.p.!!

Here are the twin monkeys I've been making for my twin nieces. I used felt for the eyes and then decided to do some for the mouths as well. I think they're not to bad for my third and fourth monkeys. :)

  • Right! I've bought my socks and my stuffing. Dusting off the sewing machine!!! :)
Will it work with long (knee length) socks or not really a good idea?
  • Can anyone tell me how to upload a photo on here? I made my first sock monkey at the weekend, not perfect by any stretch of the imagination!!! Really struggled putting the arms/tail/ears on anyone any tips?

chasingsunshine; you can use looong socks, the monkey wil have very
long arms and legs but you can shorten to suit

upsy-daisy; sorry cant help you with photos as i;m still learning how to do
it myself. I go thru photobucket but others use different means. As for sewing
on the arms etc there is no easy answer to that (well I havn't found it yet!)
    Just practise really.

i'd love to try and make a dino, your's is fantastic.

I'm gonna try my first sock monkey today. i've a pair of socks my dd has outgrown but still in excellent condition. it will be a practise run. If turn out ok then i'll go and buy some socks to make all my lil ones a monkey. but through i'd prefer to use an old pair first.

    will report back later.
