Took a monkey to give to a friend last night. We were at a fundraising event and the monkey was spotted. I am now doing a Sock Monkey group to show some ladies how to make them to sell for fundraising.

Does anyone know if cushion filling will be OK if the monkeys are sold? Does it conform to the correct standard for toys?

It will be OK if it conforms to the fire/safety regulations 1988 - it should say so on the label. There are a couple of BS safety numbers too. You can find the information on google.

Wow, there are some fantastic creations on this thread, you ladies should be very proud of yourselves.

Sorry to ask I have gone back quite a few pages but which pattern do you all follow for the sock monkeys?

Is it the one on the first page?

Sorry I did try to look but am a bit overwhelmed :o

I use the 2 on the front page, but have adapted it as I've made more.

If you are just starting, be careful which socks you use. It makes a difference.
For some reason, stripey socks always look good, and chenille (but they are a !!!!!! as the bits go everywhere)
