El cotillo in fueteventura
Really relaxed resort, just a few bars and restaurants, nuice harbour and 2 lovely beaches either side of the harbour - 1 with lagoons and 1 more suited for surfers. we absolutely loved it!!0 -
Playa Blanca for me too. been 4 times and love it. Would live there if I could speak Spanish and get a job! There is no building work anywhere near the centre or Marina.
Hotel Princess Yaiza has a fabulous spot. It is a very classy hotel.
Alternatively you can hire a Villa close to the centre for around £400 -£500 for the week and get your own flights. We recently stayed in a Villa with heated pool/3 bed/2 bathrooms and sky tv etc for £350! It was fantastic.0 -
Yes yes yes!!! Playa Blanca for me!!! Oh yes, but you know that because someone kindly posted a link to my review further up. :j
Yes Lanzarote is made up of over 300 volcanoes... but Playa Blanca has white sands... and the Papagayo beaches to the east are voted consistently amongst the best in Spain.
Grab yourself a hotel like Gran Castillo or Papagayo Arena. These are at the Papagayo end of the resort, so away from bars and restaurants... but I believe there's a free bus that can take you into town. if you fancy the walk it's about half an hour stroll along the promenade (or 4 hours if you stop of for lunch and shopping at Marina Rubicon LOL).
However, there are some lovely hotels right in the town centre which are still nice and quiet. The Lanzarote Princess has carpetted corridors, so you won't get woken up by clippy cloppy heels or suitcases when you're trying to sleep.
If you want to go REALLY quiet - then have a look at Femes, or Yaiza. Both are a 15 minute drive from Playa Blanca (and 20 minutes from Puerto del Carmen and Puerto Calero), and really are "Spanish Rural". There's a gorgeous hotel in Yaiza - but I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. If I do, I'll post a link to their website for you. My dream house is in Femes, overlooking the valley. Oh well -there's always next week's euromillions eh?
Whatever decision you make - have a lovely holiday.

Click the Union Jack to get to the English speaking section. The font is almost illegible (shold have used me to build their website instead lol).
We drive past this place a couple of times a week, and always try to nosey in. It looks like a real quiet haven.
