Silent Mule, you HAVE to complain, This is absolutely ridiculous. I cannot recall having to produce a the CC I used to book e-tickets for air fares, if they can accept a passport as ID then surely Virgin Trains can. If I were you I'd write to Richard Branson himself, can't see him being amused by this at all. Do it snail mail though, and mark it private and confidential.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Yeah, Silent Mule, that's just plain ridiculous of Virgin, especially the whole losing a credit card means you're in breach of the contract - what on earth is that all about?0

I havent had too many freebies lately but in the past...
Called and complained about no toy in cereals...they sent me the whole set and just wanted the barcode.
Complained at a wash powder brand as a couple of items had bleach spots.They sent me £150 to cover replacement.
Called a cable company to pay a phone bill(a while ago) and the guy said there was no bill to pay then actually after much argument said...well you may aswell look at it like a good thing(words to that effect) and refused to take payment on a zero account.When my bill was double next month i called to whine about it and they gave me full cable tv package for 6 months free.Determined to be debt free.0 -

I have had a good few bad experiences with restaurants, and fast foods, but I am too scared to complain on the spot, as I have watched too many programs that say they spit or wee in food if people complain. This puts me in a tight spot as I usually sit and wait til my OH's finished, and I am starving and end up going to chippy on the way home!. It also pee's me off at the money I have spent on poor service.Wish I had read this when my kids were still in nappies as I cannot remember how many times I tried to put on a nappy that the side fell off! or the crystals fell out once they peed, especially the last one ugh!. but what's done is done!
Oooooooooooh yes, ( severe memory flashbacks ) :eek:0 -
I have only started, but received a little shower gel and bath salts from molton brown. I emailed to say I liked their stuff as my Mum had bought me some for chrstmas last year.
Also got 3x£1 vouchers from Quorn this morning as I had complimentd them also.
Complained to a crisp company for soggy crisps and am waiting reply. Also emailed quite a few other companies and am waiting response.
This could get addictive.!:jA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men :cool:

In the last few months ;
3 travel sized bottles from Molton Brown for asking for samples.
3 pounds of vouchers from Nivea,for complimenting.
3 pounds of vouchers from McVities,for complimenting.
9 pounds of vouchers from Greggs,for complaining.
Possibly others,but have forgotten.
Awaiting a package from Lush,as their deoderant bars made me itchy/gave me a horrible rash - hopefully the stuff they're sending me dosn't do the same!
Avon are RUBBISH. I sent this ;

I'm quite dissatisfied with Avon at the moment. I do not currently have an Avon representative,as my last one tried to have sex with my partner. As such,I wanted to buy online yet the site is poorly set out and dosn't seem to actually have products on show? A few of the items I bought last time are very sub-standard,especially the Chocolate coloured nail varnish which flaked off easily and was an awful colour once applied. It's also quite cheap of Avon to charge for samples,whereas most places will give them free - bit penny pinching,is it not?
Kind Regards,
Emma

Received emails from them stating they do not offer free products, as then word gets around, and they get swamped with emails!!
Can understand their point of view, but still disappointed!!
I really am a loyal customer of those companies, and truly do buy and enjoy their products, so would have liked some acknowledgement in the form of freebies to recognise my loyalty!!
But never mind. Can anyone recommend any other companies that do give free stuff???
Don't think there'd be many more, as more and more companies are losing money and going bust, so can't imagine us lot wanting freebies would be on their list of priorities!!! :rotfl:0 -
I emailed lush, walkers, Cadbury, kettle chips. etc to compliment their products and politely asked if they had any freebies lying around...Received emails from them stating they do not offer free products, as then word gets around, and they get swamped with emails!!
Good of them not to actually state in writing that they don't offer free products as people then tell all their friends on the MoneySavingExpert forums and then they get swamped with emails!!0 -
