    Update ; Recieved the Lush complimentary goodies ;

    x2 The Olive Branch
    Pinapple Grunt
    x2 Vanilla Fountain
    Dream Cream
    Lemony Flutter
And something else I can't quite remember.

The stuff was lovely and more than made up for the hastle caused,so I took myself along to the shop to buy more Lush stuff - spent 20 quid and got a 16 pound Serenity gift box free,as well as the sample of American Cream the assistant (lovely lady,by the way!) threw in.
  • A few weeks ago, I was left stranded by a train company; I think it was Wigan North West; I was going from Manchester to Liverpool. After all the delays, I was stranded with no way to get home other than wsalk 3 miles in the cold and dark or get a pricey taxi. I basically persuaded them to pay for a taxi to get me home and they did. It was their fault in the first place and althouh they never admitted it, at gone 1am I was too tired and cold to care or argue any more.
  • I would like some help on one thing, as to what I should do next.

I ought a laptop from John Lewis through Quidco as the cashback made it good value. I could have gotten it cheaper than JL price on Amazon and other sites. 8 months on and Quidco have not paid me my cashback and keep trying to fob me off with the excuse John Lewis have not paid up. Who do I go for; JL or QC? JL no longer operate with QC but they did when I made my purchase and I genuinely feel cheated here.

You need to push Quidco. I don't think JL will bother if you write to them.

That reminds me,a few years ago (I was about 14,I think) I was on a train back from godknowswhere to Edinburgh - it broke down or something, and we were delayed for about an hour.
As it was the last train,we all got in too late to get a bus home or whatever so the train station staff arranged for taxis for everyone on the train,no hastle or arguments - they just told as as we stepped off to come into the little lounge to arrange it,where we got tea and biscuits as we waited!

    Great service =]

Last time I caught the train, I was delayed for several hours on the return leg of my journey. It was an utterly miserable experience, but I did get home in the end and I had the full value of my return tickets refunded to me in train vouchers within the month that followed. I would have preferred for the train company to keep my money and get me home on time, but it wasn't anyone's fault the original train I was on kept breaking down. Refunding was the best they could have done in the circumstances, so fair play to them. It's not the first time I've had a refund or partial refund, and the process is fairly painless.

Would rather get a refund via the original method of payment, but vouchers and an apology are not to be sniffed at!
  • I got a £5 voucher from Birdseye as there was what i thought was fishing wire in my fish pie, I asked for a replacement and enclosed the wire as I did not finish the pie, they wrote back a personal reply explaining that the wire was the strapping used to wrap the brocolli in, i was very impressed at the reply, that they took the time and were generous with the amount i got back.

HAVEN HOLIDAY: i cant believe that you made such a fuss abut the smoke alarm not working and yet you stayed in the caravan and you couldnt spend at the most a pound on a new battery. If you were so bothered why did you not go down to the booking office and express your concerns to them.It sounds like you just like complaining after the event,to see what you can get.If my holiday had been so bad i would have complained straight away not waited until i got home.I still cant believe you put your family and someone elses child at risk all for the sake of a battery.

Firstly may I congratulate you on your very first post - it is so obvious that you have never posted one before as your ignorance is astounding!!!

The fact that a caravan just around the corner from us west up in smoke and actually burnt to the ground within minutes made me slightly nervous and the fact that there are actually gas canisters plugged into them also had me on edge but there again maybe the thought of your family burning to death in their sleep doesn't phase you where as I am really quite fond of my lot and would like to try and keep a hold of them for a few more years yet!!!

Please tell me where you buy your batteries from cos if you can get them for a pound or less then you really are a better person than me! The fact is, if they had bothered to wire these things directly into the mains as I stated, then no one including myself would have any cause to complain and no ones lives would be hanging in the balance either! The caravans are meant to be maintained before guests check in and therefore I shouldn't have been able to complain if they had done their job properly. I also did go to the reception office but it was not manned at the time (I don't know about you but I don't really fancy sitting on the step waiting for them to come back either!).

Just to fill you in on all the details though.....

I did go to reception to complain
I did complain after the fact when I got home
I wrote them a letter at the time and posted it through their letter box so they knew what the score was!!!
I didn't just complain to get something for nothing. I was clearly stating the facts and, if after reading my post you couldn't work that out for yourself then you really are clearly lacking and want to get a grip!

    Happy now?

Tell me something where exactly do YOU WORK??? It wouldn't be for HAVEN by any chance?
    !!!!!! happens!!!:D

I agree. They will have read the complaint and thought ''how many things are they complaining about? They are trying to milk it'' You should have complained immediately, oh well, some people just like to complain as Uclan said.

You are another one who obviously wasn't there but sadly I was and if you had read all the post properly then you may have understood a little bit better!

In my very first sentence I explained that we liked our holiday but that I had a few problems. If you had been the very next people holidaying in the same caravan would you not have complained?

As it happens I have never complained about anything else EVER in my life so your statement really doesn't go for anything and maybe if you had asked questions before hand you mightn't have just jumped to conclusions!

I bought a glitter body powder tub from Lush and when i got it home and opened it, it was the wrong stuff inside (it was 'bare naked lady' instead of 'candy fluff' like it was labelled). So i've emailed customer care and they've told me to send it to them and they will replace it and give me some complimentary products, i love LUSH :D
