Surely drivefly's attitude is justifying the theft by a member of their staff and as a money saving website the powers that be here should look at who they promote a little closer and maybe stop promoting them. (just a thought) :-(
You almost certainly signed a waiver, not physically, but by ticking a box saying you had read and accepted the company T&C.
And this site doesn't 'promote' any companies - you totally misunderstand how it works if you think that
As to advice - yes, contact the police. Not sure if it's in the Met's area but they can probably tell you. Your insurance company as well if you want to make a claim. Not a lot more that you can do.0 -
This is not cheap..But you now have the new pod shuttle from the car park to the door of the terminal.
I thought this was incredible !
WELL worthn the money0 -
Just booked with Skypark to park at Radisson Edwardian Hotel at Heathrow. The link 'transfers included'. Only when I had paid did it reveal that transfers are only included for one person - there is a £9 charge for each additional person. It's made the cheapest deal into one of the most expensive.0

When my car was returned to me this morning at 7.35 my £150 satnav had been stolen!!
A worrying thought is the the criminal only has to press home and he knows where I live AND has had access to my front door key for two weeks!!
When the house phone is charged up I am going to call the Met Police to report the theft and ask for advice in the meantime any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated :-(
Anthony
OK.
1. You left your satnav in the car, despite all advice not to. Would you leave your wallet, ipod, cash in the car? I hope not. Yes, someone was dishonest - but you made it easy for them. I don't leave my satnav in the car when I am parking at a train station for one day.
2. You handed over your car key WITH your house key attached? Are you mad?
3. You are waiting for your house phone to charge to report the theft? You don't have a mobile?0 -
I've been trying to find decent parking for us at a reasonable rate. Everything seemed daft. Even with discount codes getting a taxi from 80 miles away seemed the best option! But I stumbled upon parkatmyhouse.com. Definitely much cheaper than official parking places (~£45 for purple parking with code, or someone's drive for £20) but I guess may be a bit hit and miss depending on who's house you park at. I've booked it for this weekend so will have to wait and see how it turns out.0

The Heathrow Airport website says to use the expensive short term car park and that waiting on the arrivals forecourt is not allowed. Can I assume there's no space at arrivals to stop, even for 60 seconds, load luggage and passengers and drive off? Is there any downside, risk or threat when using/abusing the departure drop off point to pick up people with luggage instead?
Update 04 Jan - I picked up my friends at the terminal 4 drop off point and lots of other people seemed to be doing the same thing. It was very straightforward. Shortly after leaving the M25 at J14 I saw about a dozen taxis and other vehicles parked at the side of the dual carriageway, so I joined them in order to soak up spare time, before driving the final 2 or 3 miles to T4. Here's the spot where you can park. They should construct a proper lay by.
Just a warning- that [layby] is on a red route clearway, and a mate of mine who is a PCSO for TfLs safer traffic command, will ask you to move on, or issue you a ticket. They get complaints from lorries using Spout Lane (which is the slip road) from entering the 50mph dual carriageway, as the parked cars cause an obstruction and can be dangerous.
The nearest places to park up at Heathrow if you want to wait for your passenger to ring you once they've arrived at the departure drop off area are -
For Terminal 1 and 3 - McDonald's car park on the Bath Road (1 hour time limit here, though as it's a private car park, you can take the advice of receiving a [STRIKE]fine [/STRIKE] invoice from the number threads on here and ignore), though there are parking bays around Mondial Way which are only in operation Mon - Fri 8am to 5pm.
Terminal 4 - the BP opposite Hatton Cross tube station. There's not a lot of room here, but there are a few spaces behind the petrol station building.
Terminal 5 - the Esso on the Southern Perimeter Road. More room here than the BP.0 -

Well I've got to say parkatmyhouse was definitely worth it. When i got to the guy's house it was obvious there were a couple of other airport cars parked there. His house was a couple of minutes bus ride from T5. Only issue was getting back to the cars. Our flight landed late so we missed the buses. Couldn't find a cheap taxi willing to pick us up for a local journey. The heathrow black cabs charged us £65 for a six seater 10 minute journey
If you're willing to overlook the lack of formality of the parking space (we were parked outside the guy's house) then its going to save you a bundle.0 -
I have always used Purple Parking at Heathrow and have always found them great value. However, the last time I used them, when they delivered my car to the airport the driver's electric window mechanism was broken and there was a large crack on the winsdcreen. When I told them about this they refused all responsibility and said they would do nothing about it. I shall never use them again.0

Used Parkatmyhouse.com earlier in the year, £3/day, just off Bath Road so free public transport. However price rose to £5/day, security not specially good so looked at Purple Parking - £50 instead of £40 for same period, free comfy transfer.
Only hassle was had to wait about 1/2 hour for transfer to T5, 2 other busses only did T1-T3. But no biggy, would use again.0 -
Just a warning

If you come directly North out of the Terminals 1, 2 & 3, ignoring the A4 and M4, you find yourself on the A408. After passing the Golf Course roundabout, there is an almost disused bend in a former road on the left, abandoned by later road widening. This is Stockley Farm Road and is usually a pitch for a "chuck wagon" . A bit primitive but easy to find your way back to the airport.0
