Thank you, i have to stay positive otherwise id worry lol id rather keep positive.... in the last month me and oh have come a long way just seeing what are spending is like.... so hopefully this time next month we will be a little further away from been in debt....i just wish i had a better amount of cash free lol shoulda woulda coulda...... its reassuring knowing your not the only one out there alone battling this just wish we hadnt been dumb enuff to get ourselves into this .... i was a student about a year ago doing my nurse training living on 500 pm.... im now a year qualified a 1000 pound better off but i got all my debt at uni if id of just waited and not been silly grrrr ive stopped looking at the whole sum im looking at the little sums.... working through it slowly ...... i was curious about cc you get your bill with the intrest of the amount you owe so if im paying every day a little something technically i dont get robbed of it with intrest because the amount i owe will be smaller does that even make sense or am i truly going crazy :O

it makes perfect sense and that's the way to look at it, if you pay a pound well you are saving say 1.04 with the interest on it

hello, you say your internet is free through sky, but you can get your landline calls free through sky too (at least evening and weekend ones) yu can leave your rental thru BT or pay the rental thru sky at £10 per month (cheaper than BT) i have this sky package and my telephoen calls (during the day
for a month is about 40P)

your sky remains the same at £22
your landline goes down to around a tenner
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

My parents get their calls with Sky and they kept their old phone number. AFAIK You still rent the line from BT but your calls get routed through sky which they bill you for. If any calls are cheaper through BT then there is a 4 digit access code you can dial so BT would charge you on your bill for that call. I don't know it off the top of my head but BT would be able to tell you.

You should read Martins article on money saving on calls, there are lots of services you can sign up with where you dial the access code and get the cheap calls, they only bill you for those calls. We have family all over the world and we have a little sign stuck by the phone so we know which provider to use for which call. Once you've arranged it is no problem.

It may only save you about £5 a month but if you do 10 different things to save you £5 each time then thats an extra £50 off the debt, do it every month for a year and thats £600 off the debt. I've become a strong believer that its the small savings here and there that make the biggest difference overall.
Debt at highest: approx £23,150
    Debt at LBM: £18550:eek:
    Debt now: £18550

  • Amyandjon good to see you're still positive and all is going well.

I'm just wondering if you have any items that are currently clogging up your house that you could sell? Perhaps you could both do a car boot sale to make a bit of extra money and for a bit fun. You could also sell on e-bay, although some on this forum have had some problems with that route.

Hi Amyandjon....just found your diary and what a lovely read it is.You sound so positive and that is a real bonus to busting the debts.
Usually if you have interest bearing credit cards it's best to pay the largest interest rate one first..then throw all the money at the next one etc.
    Think you are doing fantastically.
