You will need clothes if you are in a job, so up your clothing allowance. Are you office or customer based? Do you need smart suits? If so then add £10 dry cleaning. How will you get to work? Car, bus, train? You need to add travel expenses. Up your hairdressing as well as you need to look nice. Put down holiday as some OR's allow and some don't.

Hi there, thank you for your input.

I will be walking to walk and back, so no travelling costs. It is office based, its a part-time PA position. I do have smart work clothes already, but hadn't thought of dry cleaning, thanks. If I can get away with the hairdressing and holidays, I will give it a go. Thank you.

  • You might not get entertainment but you could always stick it in pets expenses, thats what i did, do you use your oh's car? you could show a contribution towards its running expenses maybe or a taxi to Asda for shopping? You can up your clothing allowances, especially if your walking to work as you would need some decent shoes and coat, have a sit down and work out what clothes you would go through in a year, i started off with £20 a month but then sat down and worked out how long clothing lasts especially for work, even undies and socks aint cheap and it worked out at £60 a month over the year.
Life is like a game of Snakes & Ladders, i almost made it to the top but now i'm at the bottom again and its a very long ladder to the top. I had it all and now its gone

I do have a cat, she hardly costs a penny but yes, I could put entertainment down in the pet option, thank you. We don't own a car. I don't want to take the p*ss re clothes, I have a couple of decent coats and a fair amount of shoes. I am only working 11 hours a week so they should last me a long time.

    Thank you for your input.

How to spoil my weekend. :o

Got a letter from the OR today, asking me in for an interview on 3 March. Doesn't say why and says it will last 2-3 hours.

I am so fed up. I went BR 7 months ago, they had all the info they wanted off me back in October and suddenly, I get this. OH said he is coming with me, he wants to make a complaint about how this has been handled. I know the OR has a job to do, but I feel I have been left hanging for 7 months, I have provided absolutely everything they wanted, had three long OR telephone calls, sent back loads of information, ages ago, and I now have to sit through an interview. I have no more information to give, so I don't understand why. :(

Summer, been there and got the T shirt.
It took them 5 months to request a F2F interview, i thought it was the letter to say they were going to give me early discharge  , i hadn't heard anything for 3-4 months, the investigator wanted more info, even though i said i had provided everthing i had got to the OR. I had a 3 hour grilling (had to fight the urge to punch the jumped up pricks lights out), going over the same thing time and time again, in the end they gave me a choice of going to court with possiblity of BRO for 4 years or accepting his findings and taking a BRU for 3 1/2 years, i couldn't be bothered with the hassle and took the BRU (i was tempted to go tocourt though and fight it) and as my credit rating is shot for 6 years what effect is a BRU going to have on me:confused:

Oh and i think they have 10 months from BR date to apply for a BRO/U after that time they either have to apply to extend the investigation period or drop it

I posted in your thread. :D It helps to know I am not alone, not that I would wish being kept hanging on for months on anyone, but it helps to hear advice and personal experiences from people that are out the other end. And I hope that I won't want to punch his lights out, OH will be with me, though he may want to. :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: Yeah i just read your posting and then i thought damn i just repeated what i put on my posting :D

I would say what annoyed me most about the BRU was that the investigator sent the interview request, BRO/U intention of proceedings and copy of BRU through normal post, i would have thought it should have been sent recorded delivery to make sure i got it, especially as only they give you 14 days to reply to the intention of proceedings and if you don't reply then they apply to the courts for the extended BRO and we all know how unreliable the post can be at times. I also love the plain brown envelopes with the big if undelivered return to insolvency blah blah stamp on it. I reckon our postie must have thought i was working for them at one point.

When i posted my SOA on here over a year ago i was sort of told to inflate some area's of it to take into account that the OR may not give me allowances for some area's i put down, i know in my telephone interview he said he wouldnt normally allow xmas but as i had a shortfall in income to expenses he would allow it on this occasion. We had a cat (till she lost her 9 lives) and planned on maybe getting another so stuck in £20 a month but as it turns out our landlord wouldnt allow us to have a cat so it has been my entertainment budget for the last 12 months.
I've had shortfalls in a few area's of my budget this year, mainly car repairs and dentist (even on nhs i've just had £200 of work done this past month) and i only claimed £10 a month for dentist/prescriptions so you may need to pull in extra from other area's.
