She should absolutely do it!! I'd never take back anything worn but she won't be and there is nothing more soul destroying than seeing your latest purchase in the sale a week later!!:p0

When my husband worked in Marks and Spencer’s they had a ‘buy back policy’. This meant you could take your items into the shop and literally ‘buy them back’ at the sale price.
Several people who knew this policy would buy loads of stuff in December and then bring it all back in for the January sales. One particular lady was refunded over £1,000 as her purchases included leather coats.
Now that is money saving!! :money:I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100 -
I did this at Christmas with M&S stuff I got for myself. If I saw something I wanted and knew I wouldn't use it before New Year then I bought it and put the items and receipts to one side. When the sales started I checked online if any of these things were reduced, bought online where I could and checked out the local stores for the rest. I saved over £60.
It's just good practice to get the best value for yourself.0 -
Yes, Kate should return the dress, if not worn, as a lesson to shops & other outlets for trying to do the dirty. I have done it in the past on a £56 dress reduced 2 days later to £26. After all the sales staff usually know if a sale is imminent.0

Please can people read the OP!! She is taking back the SALE dress with the FULL PRICE receipt. Whether or not the full price dress how been worn is irrelevent as she is not taking that back!!
I honestly thought everyone did this all the time, except lazy people with too much moneyBut judging by this thread, people don't even get it, let alone do it!!

Of course! Done this loads of time!
just make sure the sale dress hasn't been marked (eg. red dot on label to show that it is a sale item).0 -
Here is a little point for all the yes I would people. These days most stores have cctv watching the tills and if they suspect you of doing this , they will note it and every time you shop in that store they will be watching , also thats why most ask for name and address, when you return items. And if you return items often they will start keeping notes of what you return and why.0

Too right. In fact I told a friend of mine that I'd seen her new dress in the sale rack and made her look in her bin for her receipt. She called me everything but then thanked me when she got the same dress ..... and 1/2 her money back. That's what friends are for!!0

Yes, I'm sure the security guards have nothing better to do then memorise exactly what everyone buys incase they bring it back when the sale starts  :rotfl:Proud to be a MoneySaver!

Of Course, I do this all the time, Matalan sales, Boots Toys at Christmas, Tesco Direct stuff, Amazon refund you the difference if prices have been reduced within 30 days (As long as you ask for it) so why should other stores that make millions of pounds profit get away with it! .
I took something back to Matalan that had reduced in the sale but only got offered the sale price back, not the original amount.0
