Maz, that sounds a lot like Stu - he is always tired and quiet at home, but then when he's with other people, he's happy, charming and funny.
I ask him why he can't be like that at home, and he says it's a real effort to be like that.....in which case, why will he make the effort for others, but not for me?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

It's so frustrating isn't it... but then the other good points outweigh the bad... (like his housework ethic!)
A funny thing happenned this week: i think he's making efforts...
We caught the last hour of Bridget Jones on BBC the other night, and amazingly he sat and watched it, and actually quite enjoyed it... so much so that we planned last night to sit down as a family and watch Bridget Jones 2... just as the film started he came thru with popcorn for everyone... silly but it made me feel quite emotional. Something so simple... but it meant a lot.
(not least of all cause he couldn't sit and flick thru the Sky Tv for an hour and a half, which i know is an effort for him!!)I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
It's just as frustrating the other way around though - my OH is lively and talkative and cheery around me, but he can clam up around other people - I think he was very shy when he was younger and still sees himself as a bit awkward - so sometimes people think he is a bit rude or standoffish - that's hard to watch.0

Maybe I should be grateful that I had the remote's in the first place0 -
ARen't all men like that (lenny excused!) mine does nothing and is miserable AND he doesn't even go out and get jolly with him mates - he has no mates and he doesn't drink. So when I get drunk its a cardinal sin.....and when he isn't working he likes us 'to be together' which translated means shopping. He gets angry if I don't show the right amount of interest in picture, sofa, table, chair tv...
He does have mates really but they all work abroad.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford
