No voluntary redundancy but the package should be one month salary for every year I've been there (5 years) plus outstanding annual leave of which I still have 20 days to use this year! Plus they will still continue the private health contributions for a year, which is fab given I've just been referred because of my headaches/sinuses/migraines.0 -
Just to introduce myself. Have read the posts on this forum for such a long time but finally decided it was time to join in. Work full time for a local authority and like many have the prospect of redundancy hanging over my head. Have two lovely young daughters who make all the difficult times worthwhile. Recently divorced and left with a loan for a car I don't drive and an ex partner who wants to take no financial responsibility for his children
Hoping to learn a bit more to stand on my two feet and know that I can cope if I do find myself out of a job. Appreciate all the help you lovely people can giveJanuary grocery challenge £159.43/£250.00
February grocery challenge £209.53/£200.00
March grocery challenge £165.66/£190
April grocery challenge £186.27/£170.00
May grocery challenge £22.51/£180.000 -

Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself before I start posting, in case you wonder who this newbie is:)
I cannot tell you how over the moon I am to have found this forum, it is just what I was looking for. Like many others, I am struggling with feeding and caring for my family as food and bills seem to get more expensive by the day.
I am married, with three kiddies, a 12yr old, 9yr old and 3yr old, the older two could eat for england, they are skinny little rakes but they would eat all day if they could lol, they also seem to grow an inch taller each month, so their clothes do not last long, its a bit of a struggle I must admit.
As a family, our income really isnt dire, but it disappears so quickly each month, I now find myself with 15 days till pay day and just £135 to feed us with for all of that time. Unfortunately, this is the norm, rather than the exception. So I figure its time to take control and try to get a grip on this before we find ourselves in trouble.
I will be joining the debt free wanna be board as well, but for now, this board looks just like home :T
I'm a crafter, I knit, cross stitch and am learning to draw and paint, I work from home as a commission stitcher for cross stitch magazines, and I am trying (but failing) to grow my own veg.
I am also trying to get my head around Flylady cleaning (my house is chaos)
So thats me lol, I see that everyone has signatures, I'm not sure what to put on mine yet, but I will figure that out as I go along I guess.
I look foward to chatting with you all soon0 -

Hi thought I would introduce myself. I am married with 3 teenage children. My OH is a chartered accountant working for local government. He narrowly missed being made redundant earlier this year but had to take a reduction in salary. We have one daughter who is a medical student and another who is due to start uni next September (so two at uni same time)and a teenage son who never stops eating.
We are already quite frugal. I spend only £75 per week on grocery shopping. I have a half plot on local allotment. I am unable to work myself as I have ME. Money is quite tight at the moment and with OH's job uncertainty we need to cut back even more if possible.
Its going to take some time to read through all the tips/ideas in this forumWeight loss 0/2st

Hi
I am also feeling brave and thought Id introduce myself. I am 35, married with four kids (13,7,6 and 3) and work very p/t for very variable wages. My DH has a good job so I am lucky in that respect but I am looking to be a Debt Free Wannabe with MY credit cards and I really want to do the grocery challenge and have LOADS of No Spend Days. My house is also UTTER chaos so instead of shoopping to "make myself feel better" and ultimately just bringing more clutter into the house I am going to start staying in and sorting the stuff that is here and sell a load on ebay/musicmagpie etc to get that debt free date nearer!
I have been sniffing round the boards loads the last few days and am so inspired I thought Id join in. I dont really do forums as I used to a lot when the kids were small and most were a bit :mad::eek: but this place looks friendly and so so useful
Hello everyoneHave nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.
