:hello: hello and welcome to all our most recent newbies!

Good to have you on board and look forward to reading your posts and learning from your individual tips :D.

This has to be the friendliest board on the whole MSE :money:site and you will always find somebody who will help if you have any queries. The board-guides especially have been so good at pointing me in the right direction when I've not been able to get my head around the Indexed Collections.

Izzy bizzy, a special welcome to the world of computers :D - you'll soon be starting to wonder how you ever managed without one  . I've been to Thurso - on the way back to Dingwall from John O'Groats (while on holiday) about 10 years ago! Don't think there's many people who've been to Dingwall for their holidays :rotfl:.

Welcome to our newest batch of recruits - great to see our number of posters growing like it is :D.

You'll all find lots of things to read on here and tons of 'OldStyle' ideas to make your money go further. And, it goes without saying, that we're all looking forward to reading YOUR ideas as well.

Grab a cuppa, pull up a chair and get really comfy - most of us find that this place can kind of 'take over' - in the nicest possible way of course ;)

  • Afternoon all,

After lurking around on the site for a little while, have decided to join and say hello! Have recently moved in with OH, so will be looking for money-saving bits and pieces (just received our first council tax bill - ouch!!) and look forward to putting these into practice. Like Elaine in the above post also work full time for the NHS which I really enjoy. I do wish I had joined before, the site is fantastic and getting v addictive!
  • Hi!

I have been hanging around for a while now. I am a at the moment on a professional training course, I work in the NHS and study a lot at university and at home...hopefully I will be Dr. dealwithdebtdot the year after next.

I am a single mum, with one teenage daughter.

I hang around here mainly, but also debt-free wannabe and up your income. Comps...takes too long, but i'm on the survey and click throughs. Also started selling stuff on ebay. It ll feels great, in control, and a bit puritanical!...in a good way.

I am toying with getting an allotment too.

I am saving real hard to pay for my daughters dental work, and we want to move to London when I qualify (and she finishes her GCSE's...but that may be delayed til she has done her Alevels.)

    Nice to be here!

  • Hi Everyone, I,m new to this so please excuse me if i make mistakes or ask stupid questions. I have been spying on here for a while though (is that bad?) You all seem so freindly. I'm coming up for 59 have 4 sons 38, 37, 36 and my darling son who I lost nearly 2 years ago at just 29. I also have a daughter age 13. I have a partner and we both work. I should be gratefull to have a job but am beginning to feel tired after working all my life. (God I sound ungratefull) I have been in alot of debt but am now on the last haul, only in debt of about £700. Beeing carefull for so long has made me get use to and dare I say it, enjoy the challenge. Any way thank you for letting me join in and have a brilliant christmas. Hoping to speak to all of you soon. Keep up the good work you all do.
