Or protecting yourself against one. Either way there is nothing unlawful about what you are doing, however they will most certainly come up with some bullshlt about you not taking photographs in their store then follow this with recording your vehicle licence plate details or cctv footage of it for their shiny new anpr systems to store. Incidentally if you drive to Tesco they will almost certainly have data on you.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Thanks
I would usually do this but as they put an annoucement over the tannoy for the price label lady I presumed that would enable me to take her to the SEL when she arrived.Unfortunetely the supervisor went off and it seems nabbed her first or removed herself.
The manager kept saying could not have been £12 SEL as offer finished yesterday and I could not really say I think it was out of date!
Never mind, you win some, you lose some - treat it as a lesson learned!
You'll know next time what they are up to!
When it happened to me it made me doubly determined to get one up on the CSA!0 -

I see your point, but personally I'd find it hard to use this one. If you take a photo it implies you are expecting a problem and this has been regarded in the past by Tesco as misuse of the policy. I also seem to remember some discussion about Tesco not allowing you to take photos on their property?
It may be wrong, but's not worth a ban in my book!0 -
If your worried about a ban or even a high profile then the best possible action is always to walk away when they renege on their contract, don't forget though this is what they are banking on. Besides anyone who is prepared to go to such lengths and be party to a criminal act is unlikely to be offering you dtd next time are they?Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

To be honest it's probably a 50/50 shot. I'd certainly do it if it was the last item there just in case, but if there are plenty left and you go with the CS person to the shelf directly (before they have a chance to call anyone else) it shouldn't be a problem. I think Hesk just got a bit unlucky. If they try the "I'll just call the person who does the pricing" again, just say, "No, it's ok the price is just over here" and start walking off.0 -

Agree, Hesk definitely was unlucky, just wouldn't go down the route of taking pictures. I've had success with R&R and DTD for over 3 years now without raising my profile. The more of a fuss you make, the more you will be remembered in the store - but at the end of the day, each to their own0 -

Once you know they are less than honest, it is possible to beat them at their own game - on high value items, sometimes my other half has waited discreetly near the product (though I appreciate that this isn't always possible) Luckily he wasn't needed, though I'd have liked to have seen the face of a CSA caught doing this.
Also sometimes I go and double check the price before going to CS, and tell them that I've been back to check and I am definitely right!0 -
Well
Reported the situation to CS via the freephone number and the lady basically agreed that it sounded like they had withdrawn the SEL. The lady phoned the store and got back to me with two options. Would I like the manager to call and apologise and would I accept a £10 gift card.
I agreed to the latter as im easily bought (or is that just easy!!) but declined the apology as although marked to high heaven now did not want to wind the manager up any more0 -
In the DIY section heavy duty work gloves reduced to 25p but going through the till at £2. No problem with getting DTD refunded and offered £3.50 no problem.

If you have paid more than the SEL how can it be implying i am expecting a problem. More like covering myself from a dishonest member of staff removing the SEL and denying the error. Its actions like the case mentioned above that makes you resort to doing such things.
Besides, the photo would only be taken for 'insurance' incase it was needed.0
