Original Source shower gel, bath stuff, hand soap etc is all 99p at Boots just now, and you get Advantage Card points too. Therefore cheaper than Poundland. Bargain!

Sadly, they probably aren't. You have no idea how many people come up to me in an average week and ask how much something is.

lol, good question actually, as I was thinking how with some items you get two or three for a pound (maybe even four? I never really pay attention as I don't go there that often). But basically, almost everything is a pound, and nothing costs more than that. If it's cheaper, like 2 for a pound, there should be a sign. hth

Yes thanks that helps.
That's what I had in mind because I've been to shops called 'The Pound Shop' and prices wildy vary up to £20, ok common sense will tell you some things are not a pound but some things you can be unsure of and it's embarrassing
