I bought mascara for both myself and my daughter, they were both rubbish, I wouldn't bother, it was dry and thick if that makes any sense

I bought an own brand lip pencil for £1 and it's not great. I will definitely not buy again, it's waxy and not long-lasting.

I got a Max Factor 1000 calorie mascara from the Romford branch a couple of weeks ago - absolutly love it!

As for poundlands own brand makeup - I love the eyebrow pencils!

There are RAC headlight bulbs in stock at the moment. I didn't note the sizes but I have paid £8-9 for these from Wilko's (not RAC brand though) recently so worth a look. I've seen them in two stores so probably a good chance they'll be in a fair few stores.

I bought a lipstick the other day, more wax than colour. It also had a very high content of something nasty because I had an allergic reaction within minutes and my lips started stinging.

I only ever wear powder and lipstick so I also bought one of their face powders to apply with a brush as there was no powder puff.

I was whisking the brush across the surface it was extremely loose and not very well compressed although it did go on nicely and didn't cause any trouble and gave good coverage however because it is not very compressed I can see this being used up extremely quickly.

A very good range for a comparable price are the cosmetics at Wilkinson's I find the lipsticks much more pigmented and hold the colour.

My daughter says the eyebrow pencils at Poundland are fine

I actually really like the lipstick formulation - one of the few that neither dries my lips out, nor ends up on my teeth!

Picked up some books for family in Argyll Street, Glasgow. Really pleased with them as they cost a lot more elsewhere...

Still not a good reason to venture into Romford, though ;)
