New Statesman - trial subscription - 50p a copy for first 3 months (then £14.99 per month)
http://www.newstatesman.com/link/toz
Note that this is a weekly mag and this offer comes with a free book (Balti Britain: A Provocative Journey Through Asian Britain by Ziauddin Sardar). The pertinent terms are:
"Yes, please start my three-month trial subscription to the New Statesman for £5.99 (50p per issue), and send me my free book.
I understand that I can cancel my subscription at any time after the first 12 issues. "0 -
Does anyone know how I can get a back issue of Delicious Magazine apart from Delicious themselves? I am desperately after the April 2009 issue and when I phoned Delicious Back Issues number, was told it was out of stock - the girl on the phone was unable to tell me if they would ever have it again.
I've had a look on eBay also but, as my luck would have it, I found Jan-Feb 2009 and May 2009 but not April
I might also try putting a WANTED ad on my local Freecycle group just in case but don't hold much hope.
Any other suggestions would be welcome.0 -
Hi there, I subscribed in May for the above offer 12issues/£12 direct with In Style website. I never received the gift, or an attempted delivery card as proof of postage, even after they claim to have sent it out on 3 separate occasions. Just wondering, did anyone actually receive this gift?
I'm thinking that is was too good to be true, that they didn't actually have the gift to start with. Been offered much cheaper alternatives. They're completely unapologetic and refuse to answer my questions as to the where-abouts of my original gift (there were loads when I signed up). I'm tempted to try and cancel my subscription in protest. Has anyone tried this? Any ideas on how to handle it? Thanks.
I received it - it came quite quickly after I signed up and arrived around the same time as the first issue of the magazine.0 -
Hi all!
I recently signed up/subscribed to Maire Claire for the Liz Earle promo however got the confirmation letter saying that 'the stock of the free gift was limited so therefor we are unable to supply your free gift' are they able to do this?
I know it was mentioned in the small print but the person on the phone said I'd receive it in 28 daysotherwise I wouldn't have bothered subscribing.
thanks
Lisa

I subscribed to this before the magazine officially came out into the shops .... so I will be extremely annoyed if I don't receive the Liz Earle set. My confirmation letter, dated 6th Aug, makes no mention of the free gift.
Edit - just found the Oct issue with the advert - it does not say that there is limited stock, although I too was told so via the telephone. Surely the advert is misleading?0 -
hey there,
Totally agree its misleading, the person I spoke to on the phone when signing up said I'd receive the confirmation of subscription and the gift within 28 days.
I have got the confirmation of subscription letter come through which states the gift was subject to stock which was now no longer available, so maybe if yours didn't say that you'll be ok.
I still think its a bit of a con though, its a decent price for subscription but I wouldn't have bothered without the Liz Earle stuff.

Hi all!
Update! I phoned to complain about the Marie Claire subscription this morning and despite it saying you have to write to cancel within 8 days of the letter the lady I spoke to said she would cancel and refund straight away.
I know its not as good as actually receiving the gift (I'd be interested to hear if anyone has received one?) at least you should be able to get your money back, it sounds like they've had a few complaints as she didn't argue at all I just asked for refund and was told no problem

I emailed them .... and they're sending out my gift as soon as the money has cleared from my bank account. The advert in the magazine should have stated that there were limited supplies.0

I'm looking for 'The Sky at Night' magazine and the best I have found so far is 3 issues for £9.99 and before I went for that I thought I would pick the expert brains on here to see if you can find anything better.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
