B&Q Who to complain to?

Nobody HAS to help you lift items, although I agree that it's in their best interests to assist you in order for you to make a purchase.
One wonders if their staff are insured should they put their back out whilst assisting.
Agreed! Nobody has to help me and I would bet good money that they wouldn't be insured. I seem to remember when I worked at Sainsbury's they had loads of warnings against lifting anything too heavy etc.0 -
Thanks for that, I'd never have known to look out for it.0

I order a new bathroom sink. Paid for it and then received a phone call to arrange delivery for 3 days time. I then received two texts both confirming delivery. One arrived today (the day before delivery) again confirming. I arranged a plumber and ripped out old unit.
A few hours ago, I received a phone call saying it wasn't being delivered as it is out of stock. (It was the stockist that rang me to confirm delivery by the way!). New delivery date would be after December!
How on earth can they get away with it. Then the company played pass the parcel with me. I went from one person to the next. It was ridiculous. B& Q blamed the stockist, the stockist blamed B&Q (real professional guys).
So here I am, no old sink, no new sink, no money, because they wont refund my money until the stockist say it is okay to do so. I feel robbed.0 -
Update, they are going to refund me, but it will take 3 days. So, sitting gaining interest somewhere. Don't they class it as a scam if person takes your money knowing that they do not have the goods to provide and then hang on to your money for a period of time.0

I never heard from them again despite contacting them in several ways.
I am glad you are getting your money back, its probably just taking 3 days to get the money out of their account to yours, it won't be a lot of interest in that time so at least you will have it back soon0 -
I ordered a complete new kitchen including appliances costing well over £5000. Of course I paid up front. 2 months later when it came to delivery all the problems started. Continuous failure to deliver items, delivery dates moving back by MONTHs etc and in the end a complete farce. For example my dishwasher was moved back by 4 months in delivery. Of course all these failures messed up the fitters never mind me having a working kitchen. Eventually I complained to the head office and got treated like I'm a numpty. Final offer from them was £50 compensation for months of hassle and failure.
Do not buy items from B&Q unless they are in stock. Their attitude to customer services stinks and the senior directors remain unobtainable and unaccountable0 -
ordered my kitchen back in August, my sister had previously had a bathroom done by them, had some minor issues but nice job at the end. So when I sat down with the designer I was very specific, about wanting no hidden charges, no coming back and saying its an extra £££ mid job, I just wanted the price for the complete job.
Job starts and first thing noticed was consumer unit needed replacing, wasnt accounted for...now on this to be fair the've replaced and I've not been charged.
Then I happened to ask the fitters when do they decorate ?? we dont decorate they tell me, seems the time spent choosing wall colours with the designer didn't mean they do decorating , something not made clear to me.
missing parts included light fixtures, wall sockets, 2 interior doors and hinges / handles, radiator valves.
The missing parts were supplied, but non of the light fixtures could be used because the lighting circuit as no rcd protection.
They do a survey but fail to pick up that they cant fit the items they are trying to sell you ???.0 -
Despite numerous phone calls to B&Q's installation team, I still have 2 large mounds of rubbish left in my driveway.
They did after 2 weeks come to collect the rubbish, but left the above mentioned mounds behind.
I think in a nutshell I wouldn't recommend B&Q to anybody, I do have a nice kitchen now, but the customer service is pretty bad.0
