BCP car park - Charged £500

Didnt know where to post so feel free to move it if its wrong.
Basically we book our car on T1 at Manchester Airport for 2 weeks. Pre-paid online prior to going with visa card.
When we returned from holiday you need to put the same visa card that you booked with in the machine to raise the barrier. When we did this it charged my card nearly £400
I have rang BCP they say they will look into it, this was nearly 2 weeks ago. So I now owe my credit card company nearly £500 until this is refund if/when?
I have emailed them and rang them 3 times, and they are still looking into it. I am so annoyed:mad: Just wanted get it off my chest Thanks

Contact the credit card provider and dispute the transaction.

They should suspend it and suspend any interest while investigating.

Can't you tell your credit card company that the amount is in dispute or even try a chargeback?

What do you think I should say to credit card company when I ring them. Is it not down to me cos I placed my card in the machine?

Ring them and tell them what happened.

You placed your card in the machine but you did not agree to be overcharged.

Tell them that you authorised a payment of £x, not a payment of £y.

£x being the amount you agreed to pay

£y being the amount you have been charged.

Thats what I thought, but I checked and there is only one multi storey on T1. My original order was for 2 weeks parking on T1 Multi Storey adjacent to the terminal building. So I cant of got it wrong.

Just ask your issuer to chargeback the transaction. The car park will then need to prove that you were charged the correct amount and that you authorised the transaction. The merchant is in a particularly weak position in this case because it has no signature and no PIN was used.

Don't let the bank fob you off - its not your job to sort this out with the merchant.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.
