It's a few months since I trolled the forum trying to find why there is no big stink about TT grabbing everyone for their FREE Broadband but not explaining the ramifications of unbundling.
So......
Is everyone that joined them 18 or so months ago still with them?
Is there a way of moving to anyone else apart from back to BT?
What is the cost of moving back to BT (reconnection)?
When I last read up there was no way to leave unless you signed up for a BT contract and paid £170.
Anyone left them?

you can move to anyone providing landlines, eg. Post Office - though expect to pay £100 or so0

AFAIK BT should not charge you for "Return to Donor" - taking the line back. However, BT will require a package and contract (I think) so any cessation costs related to a future switch should be established and confirmed first. No BT line = no switch to other provider I'm afraid, unless there is cable available. You can't switch from LLU. The downtime implications of switching back from LLU to BT line are: telephone (2-4hours); BB - order can only start as soon as telephone is live so that + 7-14 days it takes new provider to complete the order.
It is likely that LLU providers will look to ease this switching directly but currently it's not possible. I'm currently with TT and have no plans to switch.0 -
you can migrate a broadband connection from LLU to non-LLU, though the ISP may charge for this, as this is much more expensive to do than a standard (non-LLU to non-LLU/LLU) migration0

Hello gillette147,
If you are an LLU customer which you should be if you are getting free broadband then you can return to BT free of charge. You just need to call them and ask for a "Reverse Migration" BT should then be able to give you dates. If you are still in contract with TT then you will be charged for leaving inside of contract.
LLU customers can only go back to BT no other provide will be able to accept you unless they offer "new line" service, most of them dont and almost always require an active BT line.
I hope this helps.

I know TT let you leave for free......but do BT charge to return?Girls are gonna love the way I toss my hair. Boys are gonna hate the way I seem.

Hi they shouldn't charge you to take the service back however they may try to sell you a new line which is about £150 however you do not need this. A reverse migration should be free of charge.
Thanks

I have just returned to BT from TalkTalk. There was no reconnection fee. I am taking Sky's broadband as well as a 3 mobile broadband usb.0

I'm going back to BT, from TalkTalk, on Monday. Contacted Bt two weeks ago who told me that they wouldn't charge me for connection
but I had to agree to a 12 month contract. Other companies wanted to charge atleast £110 for a new line
