Who is the Ronaldo you keep banging on about?

I was just getting to like you aswell then you ruin it all by not knowing anything about football, it just wouldn't work..
  • The only thing I know about football is that Charlton got knocked out of the Premier League, and that's only because my Dad, brother and sister were whinging on about it for months.

OH doesn't care two hoots about watching sport either, so I'm lucky there! :j

Just to put NDG in the picture. "Ronaldo" is the club mascot of a Northern Footballing club. He has a little body and an enormous head.

Top heavy then. I guess thats why he keeps falling over. To be fair though he is a world class winker.

I've just been reading a BBC report on who are winners in the credit crunch.

    Economists - quelle surprise
    Pawn brokers
    Lidl and Aldi

Our nearest Lidl is a 20 minute car drive away, so the savings have to be good to make it worthwhile. However, if I am that way I always drop in and it is quite true they are often cheaper than Tesco or Asda. Aldi, I've never used.

I am very frugal when it comes to food and have a mass of cheap recipes, meal plan and all that malarky - beans about three times a week. I buy value washing powder and mix it half and half with washing soda. Yet to notice a difference except that it costs pennies! It can make a massive difference to the monthly grocery cost.

If your mortgage has suddenly gone up £100 a month - there comes the moment that you have to find it from within your income. with the housing market as it is there is little chance of selling, little chance of re-mortgaging, little chance of increased income unless you get a second job, you are in a difficult position - all outgoings rising - all income static and maybe falling - if you live in Bury and work for the council. How does it leave you?

You can't win, you can't break even and you cant get out of the game!

Moanymoany - my position is very similar to you. Work for a council so no hope of a wage rise in line with inflation (nor for most people I suspect). Very frugal also and veggie, so lots of beans. Tend to rely on comp wins for luxuries. Luckily no mortgage though, but do find cost of petrol for long commute spiralling and cost of utility bills also spiralling. I shop mainly between Asda and Aldi, although I am trying Tesco online just now (with discount codes) and meal planning carefully.

Prudent, don't forget the Waitrose offer on last MSE newsletter. On a £50 shop you can save £15 by putting save15 in the box. You can do this twice before August 31st.

They do some good offers (especially for meat - sorry :o )

Thanks Moanymoany - I live in central Scotland and there are no Waitrose in this area. I will pass the tip on to my mum who does live near one, thanks :)
