I thought it would make a change - especially as this board is taking a more culinary turn!

I do hope this doesn't make me a 'has bean' as far as my credibility goes - that is if I ever had any! :rotfl:

To contribute to saving for my deposit, I made seven portions of veggie shepherd's pie yesterday. One for yesterday, one for today, and five to freeze for the week (will alternate with spag bol I have). Don't think it had any beans in. Barley, dall (that's not a bean is it?), red lentils, peas...
Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!

Maybe a reference to many variants of beans on toast some people will be eating?

Tesco sells dried cannellini beans for 50p for 500gs. When soaked and cooked they make 1kilo. They freeze well and 250gs make the protein base for two people.

    Good value.

Hold out, beans will be cheaper next week.

A leaked report shows they're going to be on BOGOF at Mr T!!

But I thought beans would only go up. I`ve got a basement full. Got them through the new government scheme with a 30% discount. Right to fart.
