Polly.. love and hugs hun.. at least you DID get to see him recently which is nice. when my gran and great undle died within 6 weeks of each other we realised they were the very last of that generation.. The fact he was such a fabulous age bodes well for you all though.. and he didn't suffer he just went quickly and quietly.. what more can we ask for.

Planning DDs wedding has made us think of that too. There are so few of the generation older than us to invite. DH and I have no parents left.

I have decided that as it is childrens rooms today and my 'children' are 18,19,22, and that they are at home today not at work that I am officially declaring them adults and I am not even opening their bedroom doors!

That said I am going to watch the opening of the Olympics.

  • Right. Upstairs hoovered, bathroom cleaned and polished in honour of our guest. This is a schoolfriend who is coming to stay. We haven't seen each other for 30 years and I found her on Friends Reunited! She may have changed outside but, from talking to her, she is still the same great girl that she was all those years ago.

I am sure it will be fine (GULP)

  • Wow that sounds fantastic Jackie, have a lovely time with your friend!
Taking small steps to get myself more organised- both financially and in other areas too:D Big steps coming soon!
